As you can see, without NA, x360 can`t even outsell PS3, it`s selling only on par.

Moreover, after/since Killzone 2 release x360 at all struggling to outsell PS3 WW - http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=------&cons2=PS3&reg2=All&cons3=X360&reg3=All&start=39817&end=39950

Now, let`s remember prices:

Europe:
PS3 80Gb - 399€ vs x360 Arcade 179€ + x360 60Gb Pro 239€ + x360 120Gb elite 299€.

Japan:
PS3 80Gb - 39,980¥ vs x360 Arcade 19,800¥+ x360 60Gb Pro 29,800¥ + x360 120Gb elite 39,800¥.

NA:
PS3 80GB - 399$ + PS3 160Gb - 499$ vs x360 Arcade 199$ + x360 60Gb Pro 299$ + x360 120Gb elite 399$.

Also, so far PS3 has more announced games for this year, than x360.

How can x360 survive 349$ or 299$ PS3 price? x360 already reached mass market (199-299$) price, in Europe it`s even cheaper. It`s dead in Japan. PS3 is getting more and more exclusive games.

What momentum is left for x360? Has x360 reached it`s limits? How long will last x360?

It's only second quarter....you cannot be serious. The sale will pick up at 4th quarter like they always do.

Let's see what happen this year

Well what MS can do to counter Sony if they drop the price of the PS3 is drop the price of the 360...quite simple actually.  360 has more than enough games coming out this year to satisfy even the pickiest gamers.   The chances of the 360 dying are about as good as the chances of the PS3 dying...which is virtually none at all.

I'm impressed that you made a pretty non biased post here.

The 360 won't die. There is a good chance that the PS3 will outsell the 360 for a year if the fabled $150 arcade doesn't come to fruition. Even though MS has loads of cash, I honestly feel like they don't want to blow another few billion on another console as the 360 has finally started making some money for them. Furthurmore, so long as their current console is many times more powerful then the current market leader, a spec upgrade is not nessisary.

Both the PS3 and the 360 can sit back and Sony and MS don't even have to start thinking about new systems as long as Wii sits at the top of the hill.

Well i actually try to be non-biased most of the time...sometimes i succeed sometimes i fail miserably, especially when Halo is brought up I tend to get pretty defensive lol.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  I actually believe that MS could lower the price of the 360 again very soon and at least break even if not make a small amount of profit on each console sold.

I agree the 360 can have a price cut but i differ in that i'm sure they can and will. They are at a very comfortable profit margin right now with their hardware. And if push comes to shove the 360 can really slash and burn price tags. Why? Well, it's simple first their sku's are very diverse. They have a high end model (hardcore) a mid level model (for the what  i like to call "core" players) this is where the teens and hardcore jids might turn to. And lastly the mass market low level model. This allows them much flexibility in how, where, and by how much they cut prices. They can cut the price of the entry model by $50 and break even or be slightly below profit margin. Cut the pro model by $70 and break even while further increasing perceived higher value. And leave the elite the same as mostly the hardcore gamers look at that and they have no issues shelling the money if they want it. Basically the sky's could offset each other and remain fairly profitable while probably dramatically increasing sales. Secondly, but most important is this: Microsoft managed to get the public to think they have the best value or most bang for your buck yet actually have the lowest value and make a whole lot of money from peripherals, accesories and their online content. Think about it. Hard drives, play and charge kit, network adapter, gold membership, extra controllers, extra headsets, online content such as netflix, tv shows, XBLA etc. The fact that sony includes play and charge kits and built in network adapters only makes more 360 owners buy these peripherals that you know they want. This is where microsoft truly makes their cash. This of course not counting software. Which is down right scary. The only reason the profit hasn't been mind boggling large is because it was offset by the excessively high failure rate it's been plagued with. But thats beggining to be yesterdays news and microsoft earning power is gonna really take off. Keep in mind rumors are getting stronger about the 32nm chipset.

Idk if the perceived value strategy was planned or accidental but either way thats smart marketing and pricing set up by Microsoft although it is kinda shitty for us. If it was planned...WOW, pure genius.

Don`t you people see a PRICE DIFFERENCE???
Or, you`re just blind?

x360 cost MUCH cheaper, than PS3, and yet struggling to outsell PS3.

Do you people think, that PS3 at 299$/€ would sell as BAD as x360 today???

Actually once you've added the cost of a wireless network adapter, wireless headset, play and charge kit, 3 years worth of xbox live and a bluray standalone player it's insanely more expensive and of course every single gamer needs all those accessories (not to mention they must buy the elite for the bigger HDD).  So by this logic (which I'm pretty sure you and many other fanboys have persistantly used these last few years) the 360 is doing amazing outselling the two cheaper consoles.

What I actually see is the PS3 has less perceived value at it's price point than the 360 does right now hence why it's selling less in the 2 main territories.  To answer your question, by the time the PS3 is $299 the 360 will still be cheaper and selling on par or better.  Neither console is going to die off and both are selling crap compared to the Wii as always anyway.  Come back when the PS3 has outsold the 360 for a year then we'll take you seriously.

Never has the J man witnessed so much win , its mindboggling......

Wow this needs to be quoted again for the awesomeness that it is.

A taste of their own medicine. But it'd be better not to stoop to their level

Aren't you the same guy that always posts that the 360 actually is more expensive because of the price of the accessories like the HDD, WiFi adapter, xbox live, and the play and charge kit. Usually you make the case that the price is significantly more expensive than the PS3.  So by your logic the 360 is outselling the PS3 even though its more expensive.

You know there are 2 sides to that coin right?

Who would have thought when the PS3 was being announced that in just a few years the measure of failure for the 360 by some would be only selling the same amount at Sony's flagship console? It probably would have been especially shocking to be told it would be only Europe and Japan being considered.
