360 will be retired to make way for games like Gears 3 on 720 that Microsoft will need to have in order to sell their $500.00 next gen console. Even if I'm wrong and its not Gears 3 that will be the Nextbox's sale inspiring game and Gears 4 instead, it won't matter that much because the PS3 will still catch the 360 by the end of 2010 because the PS3 will keep getting more and better games from Japanese developers as a result of drastically improving sales for the console in Japan over the next 18 months while the 360 and PS3 will continue to get basically the same Western games in the foreseeable future and the 360 will continue to only be known by by most people for either Halo or Gears.

The problem is Son¥ doesn't have a big release coming out every week to help it outsell the 360.

If you're counting the individual weeks as victories and relying on big exclusives to help outsell a cheaper console by maybe 20k at best then that is a sorry state of affairs.

Crazzy, I think a 349 PS3 would be a huge failure for Sony. It would give a MUCH smaller bump(than a 100 dollar pc), and it would also reduce the effect of next price drop. If Sony is only reducing the price by 50 bucks, they shouldn't reduce it at all. It would be a very poor business decision, so says GB, Pachter, and says I.

I think a 100 dollar price cut could save Sony, but a 50 dollar price cut could ruin them, this gen. Very poor marketing. Make price cuts count. Don't marginalize your own marketing.

That said, yes, this thread has been a huge success for Crazzy. His flamebait has succeeded totally. I think everyone realizes he is flamebaiting and exaggerating everything, but it just makes them mad, so they say banworthy things. Bad move, all in Crazzys plan.

     that is why the many little unique gems from Japanese developers that will be coming the PS3's way in the wake of games like the FFs and GT5 are so important and will help the PS3 overtake the 360 worldwide in the end.  When you have Persona and ICO sized games, and many more games from NIS and the like coming the PS3's way as well as their usual bigger exclusives from the Japanese and Western developers like Square, Konami, Naughty Dog, and Insomniac  with most of the big western third pary games remaining on both 360 and PS3 those games from the smaller Japanese studios  start to differentiate the PS3's library from the 360's then combine that with a lower price for PS3 in the coming months as a result of better sales and the PS3 overtakes the 360.

There won't be a $150 X360 this year or for the largest part of 2010. And if it ever reaches that price range before the end of 2010 it'll be a firesale.

A. There is such a thing like ENTRY price, and you definitely misleaded, if you think that ALL customers know, about that value thing. Especially parrents, which buy 199$ x360 Arcade.
By Knowing the value of x360 and PS3, they would stop buying x360 at all, because PS3 is MUCH better value for those additional 100$ difference between x360 60Gb Pro model and 80Gb PS3 model.

B. But x360 Arcade is still cheaper, than Wii. And you again forgetting an ENTRY price. And even x360 Pro model already reached mass market price.

C. As you can see from a graph on 1st page, after Killzone 2 release, x360 is struggling to outsell PS3 weekly by more than 5-10k. Ae you ignoring 140 mln. PS2 userbase??? Which are just waiting to play b3yond at 299$? You again ignoring, that x360 selling for MUCH lower price, than PS3? Yes, PS3 has a BETTER value, BUT as a gaming machine it`s 199$ vs 399$.

D. Those numbers are in STATISTICAL error margin. I thought you would be intelligent enough to know that. Both consoles are selling on PAR. And yes, NA is the strongest market for x360, just like Japan and Europe for PS3, BUT come on LOOK AT THE ENTRY PRICE DIFFERENCE.

E. Those estimates, which are showing, that x360 is bareally by 5-10k ahead on weekly basis(AND NOT ALWAYS), can change anytime, especially, considering pretty big difference between PS3 shipments and VGC estimates. 

F. Are you BLIND? 199$ costing console manages to oustell 399$. Are you in DENIAL??? 299$ costing PS3 will just destroy x360.
Moreover, PS2 was able to outsell xbox on it`s 4th year, even with same price as xbox, while x360, which selling for 2x times LESS entry price, than PS3 is struggling to outsell PS3 WW.

Also, 299$ costing PS3 this Christmas will DESTROY x360, no matter, how PS3 gets to that price, will that be 2x 50$ or 1x 100$.
And PS3 doesn`t need saving, IT doing OK at it`s ENTRY price. It`s x360, who is doing BAD.
