Forums - Gaming - Why restrict yourself to one console?

Hmm, because its easier to play online on one rather than two consoles? Its seriously a pain to log onto two different consoles to check to see whos online or whatever. Its not like instant messengers on the PC where you can be logged into two or more programs on the same computer.

Tease.

Money? yes but GAMES also.

I would love to have an xbox360 but I won't spend money in a console that only has 2-3 games I am interested to. Therefore, I must spend the money in a console that has the most games I am interested.

It would be awesome if we could have 2 or more consoles but that's very difficult for the majority of us. As much as we love games there are more important things to cover.

money is the main reason, devotion to the company is another. some people just want to own one console to stay devoted to MS, Sony, or Nintendo.

I have all three, and I love 2 of them a lot, but third does have its times.

However, I still hate having 3 machines that are all capable of the exact same functions just because three companies want to fight over a monopoly. One universal platform is the only way I will support the industry after this generation. I am sick of the fanboy wars, I am sick of spending so much money on the same device three differant times just to get exclusives, and I am sick of seeing great devs waste time having to port when it could be used to make a better game.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

I would go with the crowd and say money but if you look at the amount of games I have purchased for my Wii this gen I could have easily bought a 360 during that time, I haven't though because if I do buy a 360 I would feel the need to buy a bunch of games for it (because there are a lot of 360 games I want) and I would end up not being able to get the full Wii and XBox360 experience. I therefore stick with my Wii and am able to buy a bunch of games for it. I do plan to get a 360 however but it will be at the end of this gen when I can hopefully get one with a decent size HDD for ~$200.

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

i have all three systems, i dont play that one system crap i love games and i buy what games interest me. i have a steady job and when i have some extra cash after i pay my bills and mortgage i usually get what im looking for. plus it doesnt hurt that i have a brother who works at gamestop for nice discounts :)

Two reasons, time and money.

There are plenty of games I want for the Wii right now. If I start to run out of games, then I may consider another console. I have interest in a few games for both the 360 and PS3, but those few games do not justify the cost of the consoles.

Now Playing
Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Mobile - Yugioh Duel Links (2017)
Mobile - Super Mario Run (2017)
PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)

All three systems have things going for them. But for me I wanted a PS3 (bluray) to go with my HD TV. 360 is cool but then I would've wound up needing to buy a stand alone bluray player and pay Live fees- Which aint that much- but in this economy every penny counts. Times have been rough.

Oh and my girl got a Wii for me for Xmas.

Because a single console is costly enough here....two is like "I'm bleeding money!!!"

For now a ps3 is just fine. It's not about restriction, it's about being able to play and beat all the games I own now without introducing another system into the mix. I just recently gave my friend his Wii back (omg lololol) after having it for two months, so that gave me a chance to catch up on Wii games anyhow. As great as it would be to own all 3 and get to play the best from each, I can't really justify the cost involved for all the sytems and controllers that I'd need. That's without even considering that I have a finite amount of time to play games.

I also do quite a bit of gaming on PC (Left 4 Dead <3), and have a new handheld on the way so I've got plenty to tide me over.
