I remember some rumours not long ago about them announcing a 360 game at GDC. Which never happened. My guess is never, I'm sure Sony would stop it happening so maybe they'll finally acquire them.

Easy - They could make a new shooter on 360, and a shit party game on Wii and both would do well. Then continue with Ratchet & Resistance on PS3.
But I doubt they would go multi until next gen.

Insomniac are to Sony what Bungie is to Microsoft. I can never see Insomniac straying, I see Sony buying them before that happens....
Never... there is a reason why Sony isnt buying them up, and I bet that somehow they would have to go trough some legal issues to manage to go multiplat.
And if they WOULD want to go multiplat then Sony would probably do as they did with ND and buy them up :|
Vote the Mayor for Mayor!
i think they will and could announce something , maybe as early as e3 2010. if not then, i think it will be at e3 2011, the year of the next xbox i believe. :)

being loyal is nice and all, but seeing all the money sony is losing this gen. i dont think they could afford to pay the amount of money it would cost them to buy insomniac. thats why if they decide on going multiplatform, i dont see sony being able to stop them from doing that.

That might be hard to do, because im pretty sure Sony has some type of agreement with them, and soon they might even sign them.
It would not be any time soon for the following reason:
*All their current IP belongs to Sony
*All their project are funded by Sony, they enjoy an intimated relationship with many other studios from Sony, especially Naughty Dog.
*To go multiplat means that it would be unlikely for Sony to fund their next project, this means securing a third party publisher as Microsoft will certainly not fund a multiplat, (if it becomes a 360 exclusive then whats the point of making the switch?).
*In the current financial climate, Insomniac must seem like a dream job within the industry, they have a fairly low turnoever rate, is constantly rated as one of the top small bussiness in the coast, it is financially secured and all project in the forseeable future have funding.
Despite all this they are still independent. At a time where other companies are losing money, firing staff or closing down entirely, insomniac is actually expanding and opening an second office.
And btw, Insomniac is one of Sony's biggest money cow, their projects are cost effective, fast and always a commercial success, they might not have a 'massive' drawcard like Bungie or Rockstar, but they are still VERY successful.
