bad design decision, may get fixed later on...if they can be bothered, otherwise up your resolution, or get a wide screen monitor.
If you dont have a widescreen monitor you are screwed my friend.
Apparently only 10% of users on VGC dont have one so youre not important according to Brett.
It is much better for us widescreen users
Anyway, use CTR + Scroll to zoom out so you can see the whole width of the page

Not really. It doesnt make a difference from the old one to now for widescreen users. The decision for the front page to be for only widescreen users is pretty stupid and wouldnt be necassary if they decided to not have the front page so cluttered.
this site must have a fucken endless loop or something in it's code, not only does it slow down my brower down, but eventualy it'll crash my browser and then for some odd reason my computer crashes soon after, it's the only website that seems todo this...WTF!?!?!
I dont have a widescreen monitor and the website looks great. I think its a resolution issue. However, I'm sure this will be addressed somehow.

To answer your question, F11 puts Firefox in full screen. But it doesn't really help; just gives you more vertical space, no horizontal.
