Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo E3: Will it be enough for you if they.....

^i know, look im trying to defend Punch Out. Why do i have to do that? Ratings have dropped a bit but its been reviewed amazingly well considering expectations.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Why would you need to defend Punch-Out!! in the first place? It's a great game that has seen solid reviews, that will hopefully sell as well as it deserves to.

E3 is near and a lot of hype is starting to rise. How much are you expecting from Nintendo Press Conference?

It seems clear that they will talk about Wii SportsResort, Wii Fit Plus and probably Pikmin 3. My question is: will that be enough for you or you will feel disappointed? I mean, last year, they only showed three games: Wii SportsResort, Wii Music and Animal Crossing, do you thing that fact will change that year?

In my case it absolutely won't be enough and would feel totally disappointed.

What else would you add?

Maybe a first trailer of Zelda Wii at the end of the conference would make things look better...

Of course I would be disappointed with that. That would be a gimped conference. There isn't even a single DS game in there. You're telling me they can announce Spirit Tracks at GDC but pretend it doesn't exist at E3?

Not only that but I would have to wonder what their development teams are doing. I can understand why they didn't announce a lot at their last E3 conference: just look at what's been released between now and then. Outside of Excitebots and Punch-Out!! there wasn't much else they could say and stick to their planwith not hyping games years in advance.

To be honest, though I'm not expecting it, I'd be pleased with a Monolith or Zelda Wii announcement. In Zelda's case it doesn't necessarilyhave to be Zelda Wii (in fact I don't expect that until next E3), but possibly Retro Zelda...

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

Im not absolutey sure now. A while back they said there arent going to be anymore big announements from them at all, from the upcomming e3's due to it only being a buisness summit. but now that they're scaling it back up for more people to join its making me wonder if they came back to their senses and are going to continue on announcing their core franchises and what not.

I don't care about a new Zelda or a Mario... been there done that this gen. And if they announce any shovelware i will not be pleased.

However, if they announce a new iteration of a classic series not yet done on the wii/Ds I will be happy. for example, a DS smash bros, New F-Zero/pilotwings on either.

Also, for Nintendo at E3 expect new wii channels to be announced..

It wouldn't be enough because we know they've got more going on. They should tear down the walls and show everything that's coming out this year or early next year, at least, everything of note.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I don't understand why some of you say Zelda has already been done this gen. Don't forget Twilight Princess is a GameCube title.
What I want to say is that I want to see high quality games that may be rated with 9.5 or more. They haven't shown this kind of games for a long time and have been showing crap like Wii Fit, Wii Music, Animal Crossing.... so now it is the time to convince hardcore gamers that they still can do quality games....if not...they have one less user.

That´s because nobody cares much about the DS when we talk about E3. The DS had so many excelent games along the years, that new announcements are just an overkill.

Meanwhile, everybody feels that the Wii hasnt quite lived to its potential yet. Everybody still waiting something big from it.

Well, I think we all know new info will be there for Wii Sports Resort, Pikmin 3 and Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Mario & Luigi 3, Pokemon HG & SS and Metroid Prime trilogy will most likely get new info/trailers too. I think the Metroid trilogy and the pokemon games should have been announced at E3. Also, I think we can expect Mario Party 9 to be there, it really wouldn't surprise me.

Maybe, just maybe the will announce a new Mario platformer for the DS to be released between Q4 this year and Q2 2010. I can only Hope!

I really want Star Fox Wii to be announced, if it's not, then I'll be disappointed and it'll be 4 years in a row!

Zelda Wii will not be announced until GDC next year at the earliest.

This.

I really don't know why they didn't choose to announce Pokemon/Metroid Trilogy at E3... And I expect the games you mentioned (all but StarFox) to be at E3 too; plus Mario and Sonic 2 and some of the games which were announced at the 10/02 conference: Dynamic Zan, Cosmic Walker...

I hope for you guys that you don't expect Zelda Wii to be announced, otherwise you will be disappointed.

Metroid Prime trilogy???? What's that?? Are you happy with that? More Remakes? COME ON! Even Sin&Punishment 2 or Punch Out are not BIG quality titles at the level of Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong or Smash Bros.

If they do not show something BIG ( a high budget game with HIGH quality ) I am finishing my days as a Nintendo fanboy.

(i said a lot of stuff. A bug in VGchartz deleted all. I forgot what i said. Im old)
