Mint said: What I'm trying to say is I don't think they are a reliable reviewing source. Red Steel is the 2nd best Wii FPS? I don't think so. Call of Duty 3 at 86? That was a horrible Call of Duty game it self, not to mention a mediocre Wii port.
I don't understand how a game With fully customizable controls, amazing graphics, full online support, Wii Speak support, and a full campaign mode, gets the short end of the stick.
At LEAST rate it higher then Onslaught... I mean... come on! |
I can only guess they are basing review scores on what came before - using previous games as a benchmark as follows:
Red Steel early review they assumed some things would be fix, best FPS on Wii - 91
CoD3 - Good but not great game by all accounts, less than (their expected) RS score so - 86
Far Cry - Piece of crap rushed ass port - 37
MoH:H2 - Great online but lacking visually (PSP port), still a little low at 78
CoDWaW - Easily the best FPS ever to grace Wii giving it a - 92
Conduit - Beautiful, solid online but generic FPS not as masterful as CoDWaW so lower score - 76
It doesn't surprise me it scores lower than CoDWaW, nor are they reflecting back to CoD3/RS as those scores would be down dramatically (especially RS) if they were compared to CoDWaW's benchmark like Conduit is. It IS surprising Conduit scores lower than MoH:H2, would like to know the reason for that, but to it's credit MoH:H2 did have 32 player online compared to Conduit's mere 12.
Onslaught doesn't count as it's being judged against it's $10 price and ww limitations. For what it is, it's pretty good. Conduit obviously has to deal with much, much harder expectations, some of which are caused by it's own overhype.
