Pfft...

No matter how many memories of awesome sauce are brought back by playing remakes or the like...I'll never play the wii, even if my parents get one...i refuse to go SD now that i've recently officially gone true HD...

Glad YOU enjoyed it though, have fun.

there is just HD, there is nothing fake or true about it, a lot of games on the supposed HD consoles are not even in the HD category, they are just up scaled and blured to hell. it's not like it's a quantum leap from SD to HD since even in HD, there are jaggies all over the place, should prolly get that head out of the ass and just be glad that you'd have more games to play with.

In my opinion, this is because Sony and Microsoft are trying to destroy videogaming, while Nintendo is trying to save it.

Curious that your opinion should sound so much like that of a religious bigot. No offence. Enjoy your games =)*

*token smilie included so as to enhance the earnest nature of the previous statement with regards to the lack of any offence intended. While I personally abhorr such things, criticism has been offered in the past that subtle basics such as 'tone of voice' are lost in translation, despite the use of reasonably vernacular english in my posts...

I stated my opinion in that way knowing I would be asked to clarify it which I did. So by sounding like a religious bigot I managed to engage the debate and open an avenue for my longer explanation. And what a great explanation it was.

To summarize:

Tetris - excellent game

Gears of War 2 - useless rehashed garbage

How come there never is a MS I LOVE YOU!! or a SONY I LOVE YOU!!!

Always people loving nintendo,

Well have fun with your games

Wha?! Justify yourself.

EDIT: I see your response. The very ignorant excuse that PS3 and 360 are just fun to look at and nothing else.

I feel like I'm back in 2007. It's silly to think that Epic, Kojima Productions, or Naughty Dog making their games look excellent has made the gameplay. Not sure where you're pulling that from.

Yes, I am ignorant to a lot of the 360, PS3 and also Wii library. Feel free to enlighten me about amazing advances in game mechanics on either console.

No, Bong Lover is right. Let's look at the history of gaming briefly:

Nintendo revived a dying market in the 1980's. They introduced controller standards that are still used to this day, albeit in modified forms. They introduced the concept of portable gaming consoles. They have constantly innovated controls, even with the current DS and Wii. Nintendo knows how to make people feel young, and in a good way.

Sony has... well... been the big catalyst of the current industry problem. Sega started the arms race with the Genesis, but they knew enough to keep substance. Sony saw that by throwing away said substance, they can make it even prettier! Reviewers loved this; it made their jobs easier, thus, the higher scores. (This also explains the current low scores for Wii games- they actually have to play the games with an effort!) And this rush to graphics has spiraled out of control, making games too hard to profit off of. This is Sony's legacy, down to the huge losses on the current PS3.

Microsoft only did 1 major contribution to gaming, and that was mastering console gaming online. Sure, the Dreamcast was first, but it didn't take off for consoles until XBox with Live. Otherwise, Microsoft has also been around the least amount of time in gaming, so it's harder for them to make more of an actual legacy, though their current direction doesn't indicate that they will...

Yes Nintendo saved the industry 20 years ago, but if Sony didn't entered in 1995 with PlayStation, Nintendo would just continue with their strategy and industry would become smaller and smaller every year. If Sony didn't entered, Microsoft wouldn't either, so the winner would be GameCube with only 22 million sold and there would be no Wii because Nintendo wouldn't have to change their tactics.  If you look at Nintendo consoles, the next one always sold less than previous one.

NES sold more than SNES, SNES sold more than N64, N64 sold more than GameCube, GameBoy sold more than GameBoy colour...

So the industry would keep getting smaller and smaller IF Sony didn't entered.

Microsoft improved industry by bringing the online gaming, which IS the future of gaming.

If your mother is as open-minded as mine, then she will absolutely adore it! My mom couldn't have contained herself when playing wii sports boxing mode...

Man, I can hardly wait  to hear her reaction!!!

I do love how you envision yourself the creator of some great debate, despite being ignorant about the subject around which your 'excellent' explanations centre. Still not sure how any of this validates your claim that Sony and Microsoft are attempting to destroy a highly valuable market...

Sony did add a lot of markets to gaming and having competition in the market is extremely important.  Everything else you said is absolute rubbish.  The Gamecube wouldn't be the sole system on the market.  Sega would still exist and other companies would have likely entered the market if Sony wasn't there.  The market would not only be 22mil on the gamecube as gamers that were on other consoles would still be in the market and still be buying and playing games.
