Yea I say it will out the 360 by a small amount. Hell even if it comes close is a bad look for the 360.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.

It's unlikely, but plausible, unless 360 were to counter with a super secret bundle of their own! ;-p

On the infamous bundle week, now that's definitely a possibility, gonna have to wait and see. I f it does though, it'll only push ps3 slighly past 360 in others for 1 week, 2 weeks tops.

As far as I know the Elite Game of the year bundle didn't debut at Best Buy until Sunday May 17th.

Can someone explain to me how Quest for Booty is supposed to move consoles? I am a Ratchet and Clank fan, but I just don't see it. Anyone else here do?

It's just a new bundle that offers more for the same price of a normal ps3. (a game + 2 controllers)

Quest for Booty is a smaller episodic game that goes for $10 or $15 on PSN.  One could argue you get greater gameplay value out of what the arcade unit offers, when it has 5 games in it:

The two controllers are cool though.
