another sign of desperation from microsoft

I am sick and tired of reading this argument. "Microsoft are desperate, that's why they moneyhat, bla bla bla". I think Microsoft has better reasons then "desperation" for securing an exclusive in this manner, and unless you can contribute something other than wishful fanboy thinking, then get out.

Seconded, why wasn't Sony called desperate for doing roughly the same thing. A lot of people on this site praised Sony for doing so the very same thing about Ghostbusters. It is only America (as far as i know) that is not to do with the Ghostbusters thing, so people like myself in australia are stuffed.

Whatever...the last really good Tony Hawk was Underground 2, and the last decent one was American Wasteland.

Exclusivity is fine... But if we're gonna start with regional exclusivity, that's just fucking ridiculous -_-

why would ever agree to this? everyone complaing about sony and ghistbousters had better start complaining about this as it is much much worse

HOW THE HELL IS THIS MUCH WORSE?!

You do realise that it was a month and a half till release for the ghostbuster version and all of a sudden announced it later.

FFXIII is announced as an excl in Japan for PS3, But only Japan. It seems that PS3 has Japan so MS wants britain, fair enough i say.

This is the way companies work, MS has lots and lots of companies based in britain, so they know the potential of that market. Tony Hawk: Ride may sell heaps in Britain, and people who are undecided will be a great move. Deal with it man, seriously.

Tony Hawk's Underground: 2.11 in NA, 1.38 in Others

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater: 2.89 in NA, 1.51 in Others

Tony Hawk's Project 8 (360): 430k in NA, 240k in Others.

So yeah, this does reek of desperation. Why only the UK? Why not the whole of Europe, or the whole world?

Can't Microsoft and Sony make a deal whereby the 360 gets Ghostbusters, and the PS3 gets Tony Hawks. I hate all this timed exclusivity crap, especially on "supposed" multi-platform titles. Unless it is a true exclusive game, everything should be released at the same time.

At the moment, it seems the only people that get screwed are those of us that live in Europe.

Cool. I like how ms does business. :)

Does anyone really want yet another peripheral accessory in their house?

Seriously, if this crap doesn't fly (Tony Hawk Ride) then that'll be it, they'll scrap it and start from the beginning with a traditional controller.

If this were like Skate 1 and you knew this is how Skate 2 was going to be played, you could justify it. No, this is a franchise that's had so many games with the traditional controller, this is a gimmick regardless of how good it is.

I'm a PS3 owner living in Aus. This doesn't affect me at all, but I ain't buying Ride.

According to OPM UK's twitter, it is not exclusive in the UK:

"OPM_UK Phone call from Activision to say Tony Hawk's Ride is *not* exclusive to Xbox 360 in the UK. More as we get it. Unless we go mad first."

LOL, someone jumped the gun on this one.

Apparently the deal has not been finalised yet:
