You might see many million sellers here but they are going to generate revenues for third parties considering their lower development cost.

Quite a few people, its possible but rather unlikely. I say 150M is a more realistic figure if we are going to look at optimistic figures for the Wii.

John Lucas has a 230M minimum on the Wii.

I think I said 200M back in June or something.

even if there were such a thing as a "wii buble" its about time it popped i mean how dare it still be there long after all the other systems bubles have gone pop...thats just not fair

Whats funny if you think about it the wii is finaly starting to see release hype levels of sales decline what --almost a year after its release in the first major market? When did the playstation brand see that...when did the Micro brand see that?

Halo is the only flagship game Micro has...i mean dont get me wrong they have some nice games but nothing to compare to the hype machine that is bungies bouncing bombing baby, Master Cheif. And once he has come to the party for the last time what then? What will Micro be able to hype to that level to rocket sales, the answer is nothing. Sure great games are comming out but nothing that has the level of fame that Master man gets.

Mean while Sony is still left witha great FF title coming out as well as Mr Snake making an apperance and we cant forget Kratos in his third dance at the ball. You can put money that when Snake gets ready to hit the machine sony will be pulling off a few nice Pr events...(as long as they dont sacrifice another goat).
Then Nintendo is left with their big guys Mario and Zelda and those two are like printing money.

So while we are seeing big boost for micro with the Halo show boat about to set sail for the final time, after the ship is out of port the numbers will fall and go back to a maintained rate. Then It will bounce up for Nin and then bounce up fo sony and then somethign might catch on again for the box and we will see it spike. But no system will ever really just fail and be counted out of the war

I think the Wii bubble refers to stratospheric sales that clean out shelves on a regular basis. Some think the bubble bursting means that sales plummet, and the Wii will start to lose to their competitors.

I think the Wii bubble has burst even if your post game launch or in a soft spot in sales cycles a high demand hard to find item should still have ungodly sales. Since people have not beien able to get one, and everyone still wants one. You should never see a situation where supply outstrips demand by two to one or three to one. The Wii should still be selling at the higher numbers regardless of those two factors.

That does not mean the Wii will not continue to sell well. That just means its no longer stratospheric. All good things come to an end, and every console that has flown off the shelves has to reach a point where the bubble bursts. Where the supply exceeds the demand, and the initial momentum diminishes.

What concerns me is that the console has been moving heavily on a fad mentality. These sales definitely indicate that the fad is going out of style. The way a Tickle me Elmo, or Beenie Babies were the thing to have for months on end. The Wii became a toy for many they had to have. You know what else during the height of the hype about these things few people actively vested in their respective markets would have thought the bottom would fall out. Well eventually the general public does and will lose interest in things.

All of this stuff about outselling and such really doesn't matter to me. The Wii already sold more units than both consoles so far so I'm not worrying. If the 360 had about 20 million units worldwide(Since its launch) with the Wii's 11 and PS3's almost 5 then that'll be a different story. So far this year the 360 (Since Wii's launch) sold only about 6 million units. It really doesn't matter at this point if Halo outsells the Wii. The Wii already outsold the 360.

Let's see where the Wii is next year, but like I said it doesn't really matter!!!

I hate waking up to forums like this.

PS2 sales from mid October to Mid December 2000 were lower than Wii sales have ever been in Japan.

In the same time frame Wii will be getting Brawl (Oct to Dec 2007), Wii will have Opoona, Nights, Galaxy, Wii Fit, Soul Calibur Legends in Japan.

The coming weeks will see DDR and Mario Strikers as well.

I don't really expect Wii to drop under 20k in Japan in 2007, while PS2 dropped to under 10k in the fall of 2000, but it seemed to do alright in the end.

I love my Wii, but there has been a drought of GOOD games. There have been quite a few releases but few "must haves". Wii sports does get tiring after a while. That said, the holidays are coming and the fall to spring lineup for Nintendo is quite solid. There are enough games to keep everyone happy for a while... I think the Wii will cross 20 million in customers hands by next spring and at that point if it slows a bit, pack-ins, price drop, etc. can help boost sales... You also have to consider that we are heading into the christmas holiday and parents aren't going to buy a wii at this point with Christmas so close...

Personally there isn't anything on the Wii at the moment that I want that I haven't played. There are more titles coming soon which is good, but if I was going to buy a Wii now (assuming i could find one), I would put it off until one of the titles I want is released.

Christmas will be something... If Reggie's statement holds true, Nintendo will have what it had at launch -- 4M plus consoles to sell over the holidays... You know there are an awful lot of kiddies that want one...
