Yeah it's when he starts to mix it up that I'm having trouble but like with Disco Kid with practice I'll be able to pull through.

I prefer to just go for the one-jab knockdown. The timing is tricky, so sometimes he'll kick my ass, but the risk is well worth it.

I thought it didn't work on title defense because I've done it once. My hook hit him just as he was coming to me but he didn't fall down, it just stopped him from doing his rush.

Go for the face and be sharp. I've dropped him multiple times with a single well-timed punch.

Just finished beating Mr. Sandman's third challenge (beat him without dodging/ducking). It makes me realize just how well-crafted this title is: EVERYTHING the other guy can dish out at you can be countered, IF you have the reflexes of a rabid mongoose. Well done, Next Level Games. Next time, though, please don't make us use IR in the menu...

Very impressive! I take it you've beat the game?  I haven't had enought ime to beat it yet.  I'm at Bald Bull in TDM, just beat Title Defense Mode Soda Popinski in the first round :).  Done for the night, my fingers are getting sore like old time lol.  Anyway I have a question for you.  As far as challenges go I'm have all three stars up to Great Tiger(Haven't tried his yet).  With the exception of Disco Kid I can't seem to get all of his 5 stars...

I have:

The smile for the disco dance move

The smile for the pose

Left jab before his jab with his right

The right jab before the hook

There isn't any other spot that I can see, and it is driving me nuts!

I'd love to help you, but I'm honestly having the same problem. After fifteen rounds of trying to find that fifth star, I skipped him and everyone else and went straight for Mr. Sandman. I've gone back to Disco Kid, and I still have no idea where that fifth star is. He only does the two attacks and two poses, and I'm not sure how to trigger any hypothetical third attack.

Does some kind soul out there have any ideas for us?

Smashchu answered this question  on the last page. The last star is earned by retaliating after dodging one of Disco's punches, finishing your flurry with a jab, then popping him with a jab from the opposite side as he's going back into position. I think you can even get stars in Title Defense with this technique. Also, these jabs as an opponent is recovering are a great way to get some extra punches in on some foes. I got an extra couple of punches on TD Piston Hondo every time I dodged one of his attacks with this technique.

Yeah, this technique works wonders against Super Macho Man, especially after his triple spin move.  I managed to get nearly 30 consecutive jabs, until he got knocked out.

#1: Thanks! I wouldn't have found that myself.

#2: My apologies to Smashcu: I know it's frustrating to post helpful tips and then be ignored. I guess I just glazed over that post. Sorry!

While I'm here, does anybody know how to knock King Hippo's crown off. I can't figure it out!

And for Ryan Aron's (sp?) stars:

Jab while he poses... punch when he attacks from left side... Block after he dives at you from ropes, then jab... What else?! Thanks! =)

For King Hippo, wait until he steps back to do his double-fist move. When he flashes red, hit him with a hook (I don't think it matters which). This usually knocks his crown off, although the timing's a bit tricky.

Wow, I can't believe I never tried that.  Thanks.  I'll knock his crown off later. >:)
