Are those numbers for Empire retail only or DL is included to? Anyways, even if DL is included those are mighty impressive numbers for a PC title for 3 weeks, especially that it will have enormous legs :D

The fact that EA originally published Shogun, Activision published Medieval and Rome, and Sega published Medieval II and Empire does not make that any easier
