I don't have problems with mine. Mine are still tight. I prefer the 360 triggers, because they feel more natural. The PS3 goes with analog buttons on the bottom, which feel a bit uncomfortable if used a lot. I was, for example, trying to play God of War (original) on my 60 GB PS3 (backwards compatibile), and the times Kratos had to mash the lower triggers had a hard time  working right.

The XBox controller has Dreamcast triggers on it.  The PS3, an afterthought that came later.  Maybe if they went with the "banana phone" controller as originally planned in discussions, it would be different.  Ok, for balance, there are things the PS3 controller is better suited for.  Well, probably it should be said to be "more universal".

The way R2 and L2 are set up on DS3 doesn't really help. Wish it was the classic PSone controller.

Sounds like your fault, not the controllers. You must be pressing them way too hard. I've got 3 controllers and the only problem is the left analogue stick is kind of loos on one of them and I've had them all since early 2007

I really should. It's terrible when I'm almost at the finish line, and I'm just barely in first, when I don't realize my finger is barely touching the R2 button and BAM! Into a wall and I finish 5th. =(

Had mines for a year and a half now and it works just fine,also my original ps2 controller from 2001 works great as well.

Yeah I backed up everything that I could and packed my PS3 already. The good thing is my town appearantly has a Sony Electronics Service Center.

Hmm, loose triggers? That reminds me of the N64's control sticks. Those became horribly loose after some time.
