Splinter Cell sold nearly 3 million on the Xbox 1 alone.

True. But the sales for the series have been decreasing, not increasing like you suggest. I can see it possibly doing 1.5-2 million but anything past that would be, frankly, a miracle.

People said the same exact thing about MGS 4 before it came out

And MGS4 hasn't and wont' reach the number of the first two installments in the series. MGS4 had the benefit of being the biggest named PS3 exclusive. MGS4 is also a bigger named series then Splinter Cell and with a bigger following, and yet you suggest that SC will sell even more then it? How could you possibly think that?

Now your just cherry picking why one franchise can sell 4 million why another cant. Im not sure that MGS is more relevant than Splinter Cell. Assassins Creed (new IP)on Xbox 360 alone outsold MGS. and doubled its sales across both platforms.

What makes you think Splinter Cell will do those #s? A serious question, not being ugly.

Its funnly how you dont even question me about the 4 million Uncharted 2 numbers I predicted even though the first only did about 2 million

It's funny that you compared these games in the first place, but hey, it's whatever. Uncharted 2 selling 3-4mill (even though 4 seems a tad high) seems feasible. Splinter Cell  Conviction selling Assassin's Creed #s (IMO) does not. Have you seen Splinter Cell #s? Sure, it isn't impossible, but unlikely. That's why I questioned it...

The first Splinter Cell sold 5.5 million copies across PS2 and Xbox 1

Right, across TWO platforms, not one.

My point is that the franchise is big and you asked  me why I thought Splinter Cell could do great numbers. It sold 3 million on the hugely unpopular Xbox 1 alone. Uncharted never has even seen 3 million yet.

What does that have to do with the price of cheese?

Splinter Cell THIS GEN, has not seen the #s they saw last gen, that's my point. And like Carl said, Double Agent came out at a time when there was MUCH less to play on the 360. Do the combined #s of Double Agent across the PS2, Xbox, Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 and what do you come up with?

Splinter Cell hasnt had a true "this gen" game. It had a rushed PS2 port of a game. And by your argument, MW 2 should sell less than CoD2 because Cod 2 had less competion at the time? LOL.

I'm cherry picking? You are doing nothing but cherry picking. You cherry picked the best selling game in the entire series, which saled across the ps2, and xbox comined which was a huge install base and suggesting that the new one will sell even more on one console despite sales for the series decreasing. It doesn't work like that buddy. And as for AC, I never even mentioned AC. Going by sales, it would seem that AC is more popular then MGS. And it certainly is more poplular then Splinter Cell. As for me, I explained why one series sold 4 million, and why another simply won't. That's not cherry picking. :P

Well, Cod 2 only sold 2 million on the Xbox 360 also. That doesnt change the fact that MW 2 will probably break 11 million this year

i think the old Splinter Cell games did good cause they were on multiplatform.
i dont think Splinter Cell is very big now as it did with the first game.

First off, no! Modern Warfare 2 has the advantage of coming off of a 11mill+ seller (7mill+ on the 360 alone) the likes of COD 4. Splinter Cell does not. You just messed up there my friend.

Well your forgeting that MW 1 came off of a 2 million selling Xbox 360 game also. Which is the same arguement Im making for Splinter Cell conviction. That sales from the early days of Xbox 360 games cant be compared to sales today

How can you even compare the two, they're almost like COMPLETELY different franchises at this point. Modern Warfare was basically a new franchise for Call of Duty. Sometimes franchises do go up in #s, look at Halo, but in this case I think it is HIGHLY unlikely, albeit, not impossible.

Then all compare the 2 million selling Xbox 360 game Cod 2 with the 5 million selling Cod W@W (Xbox 360). is that fair?

If we're going by franchise rules, then how come Modern Warfare 2 will, most likely, stomp World at War in sales? Know why, because Modern Warfare 2 and World at War are, basically, different franchises at this point. Unless Conviction ends up being a completely different franchise from Double Agent, which isn't impossible, it will only have the Splinter Cell name to sell it. Even then, I doubt we'll see the #s you're predicting, just like I doubt we'll see a 4mill selling Uncharted 2.

Im actually now comparing CoD 2 to Cod W@W. 2 million to 5 million. There pretty similar. Im saying that Splinter Cell Conviction could sales that kind of a sales boost due to a user bas 6 times the size  of when double Agent launched.

Absolutley not. WAW sold due to the popularity and recognition it received from Modern Warfare. Also, an exception does not make a rule. Just another case of you cherry picking though. Honestly, are you 13? Because your knowledge of sales and how they work is honestly that of a 13 year old. Your entire arguement is based off of cherry picking, and exceptions. If someone had predicted COD4 would sale 11 million copies, they would have been lucky, not right.
