Forums - Nintendo - Systems that should be on the VC...

Ah, then owning the GBA Player add-on is all you need then. I cost 50 dollars when it came out so it shouldn't be too expensive on Amazon or eBay. Make sure that it comes with the player and the disc because if it doesn't have the disc then it won't work.

there's no way wii could emulate games from any disc based console - besides dreamcast was a little weaker than ps2 so how come wii could emulate it when it's not even possible for ps3 to emulate ps2 games via software update?

1.2GB CD's?

Wow, first time I hear of it.

Yeah, they were custom discs, based on standard CDs. From what I understand, they basically had the error recovery sectors and stuff used for more data, leaving them extra-suscetpible to scratches.

It was a pretty good idea to get more space than a normal CD, as in 1998 shoving a DVD drive in the Dreamcast wasn't really an option for Sega.

They also thought it would cut down on piracy. This worked well, until some people figured out how to use their DC as a drive to read the discs or hacked the firmware of certain CD drives to read them, IIRC.

It's perfectly possible, Sony doesn't want it, however.

Yep. Sony makes money on the PS2 hardware, so keeping BC out of the PS3 "encourages" more recent buyers (like myself) to buy a PS2 if they want to play older games.

A bit annoying, but at least now I have a tiny PS2 that's easy to move around places.

As do I, hehe. I actually have 2 (fat and slim, both in perfect working order).

Interesting stuff about the discs... a dire solution for more space, really. I hate when scratches start to cause probs with games. Another interesting fact is about the black playstation disc - these are actually very scratch resistant.

And thanks for your help, seth. ;)

Atari Jaguar: Mostly filled with cruddy games but hey why not?

The Vic 20: My cousins had one... the tapes took forever to load. Surely there must be some good games on the system.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

I had some games I really liked. Would be more difficult since some games used the keyboard. They'd have to be pretty cheap since we are talking very primitive and limited games.

GD-ROM!

Unless Nintendo starts releasing more games no more systems should be added
