It's perfectly possible, Sony doesn't want it, however.

 

 

Yep. Sony makes money on the PS2 hardware, so keeping BC out of the PS3 "encourages" more recent buyers (like myself) to buy a PS2 if they want to play older games.

A bit annoying, but at least now I have a tiny PS2 that's easy to move around places.

As do I, hehe. I actually have 2 (fat and slim, both in perfect working order).

Interesting stuff about the discs... a dire solution for more space, really. I hate when scratches start to cause probs with games. Another interesting fact is about the black playstation disc - these are actually very scratch resistant.
