If this is true what do you think it will do for sales? I personally think someone has way too much time on their hands or this is indeed true. If this is true and releases by years end at $300 I think it will increase sales by a huge amount. With the games releasing as well it will outsell the 360 every week WW from then on in.....still will not touch the Wii though.

Yep he said that, we must all fall to Sin. It remains to be seen what me meant by that, September reveal or release is anyone's guess.

well, let's see... they set up an entire distribution structure in Brazil for the South American market, including an entire new PS2 fab. They redesigned the PS2 and the PSP. They have been designing another new PSP 4000. Sounds like _a lot_ of cash to me having been spent on the PS2/PSP

I think it was in an interview with the president of SCE where he said that the PS3 was starting to turn a profit on every console sold (whether that means they are currently or will be buy the end of the year I don't know)

Quite a lot of Sony's money has recently been spent on restructuring and R and D

The PS2 was not redesigned last year, it was redesigned the year before that. 

The PS2 is earning them money, not losing them money, lol, your company would have to be run by monkeys to have a 9 year old product lose money. 

Think about it, Sony didn't just lose $260 million dollars ... what this mysterious "black hole" is in their game division is sucking away their profit from the PS2 and PSP. So that means this "black hole" is likely costing them in the vicinity of $300-$400+ million in losses. 

Sorry, but I don't buy that a PSP redesign costs them almost a half billion dollars, lol.

The issue is the strong yen. Since they have a lot of their operations over sea they're taking a financial hit every time they convert to yen.. which they have to.

It will be deadly, it will outsell the Wii by a lot in Japan, and will outsell the 360 until the gap is 4million, then microsoft will have to counter.
