Is yours a BWC PS3?  If its the current PS3 then i can see why.

 

Im happy with my BWC PS3 and wanted it before they release the slimline.  They already cut back on 2 USB ports, BWC, Media card-reader. 

Whats next to cut to make this slimline?

- the fan most likely

- maybe itll have the same type of disc load top the PS2 slim instead

- an unreplaceable HDD thats smaller than the 2.5" (like the ones the Ipods use?) 

Those are just my thoughts.  If they add new stuff to slim thatd be nice but in math; add =/= smaller lol

Yup! I had some good times with it. One exapmple is when I am playing MGS 4.

i predicted therell be a new sku in 2009 i still have it im my sig under more bhr-3s predictions i dont think it will be a slim i think something the same as we have now with just a diff HHD size or usb ports or some small little feature to go with the new 45nm graphics chip that should be out by this fall

Slim PS2 came out in 2004 4 years after the original PS2. 3 years have past for the PS3 now so I think a slim PS3 will be out in 2010. A slim PS3 for $299 will make crazy sales. I would definitely buy a slim PS3.

I was going to say "PLZ", but that just looks and sounds so much cooler.

 

i will not spend a lot of  money in the ps3 "fat", it is so big and ugly (my opinion, but is a good system) and i can't put this thing in my living room, if it is to spend my money again with a console, I will buy a good, small and nice looking ps3 slim. I have only one chance to buy (because I don't have so much money, I already bought the Wii + acessories, the 360, and i have to buy some games for my wii)

 

And dude, i want to play LBP, where is my ps3 slim Sony :(?

If they do go ahead with a slim PS3 it will be because they were able to significantly reduce the size and number of components. Doing that reduces the cost, it doesn't increase it.

 
Branko is right.  A slim PS3 will be cheaper for Sony.  With less components or smaller size components it will reduce the produce price.

A white slim PS3 would be very very cool. I wouldn't be able to afford to buy a second PS3 but it would certainly be awesome looking.

The Chrome lettering "PLAYSTATION 3" and the top of the system will now come in standard gray to match the new standard Gray trim as seen on the past 40 and current 80 and 160GB model surrounding the BD slot loading drive and a fancy silver light in the blue ray drive. i would only want a new color like a "white or silver" ps3, i hate slimmed down consoles.

it seems most folks here are thinking it will be EITHER a slim model OR a change in the color range to match the silver/white controllers.
Why can't it be both - a slim model with multiple colors?
