Darren Waters’ famous blog from last February still has us wondering just what it was that he actually saw. “I was shown a trailer for a game not due out till 2009 but was sworn to absolute secrecy,” says Waters. “Apparently, Sony just wanted to give a glimpse of what the console will be capable of.” If the game is due this year and we’ve still not seen it, this could be a rather nice surprise at E3, especially if they can announce a very brief window for us eager fans to wait. “In fact, the game is such a secret that when I mentioned the game to Phil Harrison last week he was unsure at first whether even to admit the title existed. When I explained I had been shown it under strict Non Disclosure Agreement terms he looked relieved.”

It’s that damned NDA that’s preventing Waters from saying any more, but we can be sure of one thing: it’s not Heavy Rain and it’s not MAG, because as TSA member DrGoodier confirmed via a brief conversion on Twitter, the game still hasn’t been announced. It’s rare that a game can survive undetected under the rader for over a year, and if it’s as impressive as Waters seemed to think it was then surely it’s been in developement for some time before he saw it too. “I don’t mean to be a tease,” he said. “All I can say is that I was left speechless.” And then the money shot: “If the footage I was shown truly is “in game” then we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion.”

We’re hoping that whatever this “BBC Game” is, we’ll find out at E3.

i wonder what it could be, everyone including myself expected it to be god of war or heavy rain, so it must be something else.

Unless I know the guy personally, I have no clue how to take his "reinvent gaming" comment. Hopefully the game will be shown at E3.

It will remain a myth passed down from generation to generation forever!

My guess is that the BBC reporter was 'chatting' a whole load of shit and is trying to save face. Probably in a couple years time say "it was cancelled!"

If MGS5 was not announced I would of thought that, but my guess would be team ICO's next project. That's of course... if this is even true

Hmm, Doctor Who? Torchwood? Red Dwarf (doubtful)? Robin Hood? Merlin? Top Gear?

It is based on a BBC show right? This isn't just something funded by them or whatever?
