Please answer my question. I will provide my answer in the thread after I see some responses in my thread.

Apparently enough for you to make a thread about it,Sales dont mean anything, games do,(yes that means PS3 is winning.)

(Hopefully MS will show some good games at E3)

They are winning only in your mind. In everyones else's mind they are losing horribly. $1.7 billion loss speaks volumn. Games are important, but if they can't help to move hardware, they aren't doing their job. Killzone 2 hasn't even sold over 2 million worldwide yet. It still hasn't sold over 1 million in any of the 3 regions. It certainly didn't move any PS3's. The FFXIII demo moved more PS3 then KZ2. That's sad.

Sorry, but the PS3 is losing miserably.

You should chill out a bit. Microsoft lost 4 times more on Xbox brand than Sony did as WHOLE in 2008.

Why would it be important to me?  I don't work for either Microsoft or Sony nor do I have a strongly vested interest in either company.

Waouw.. that is the new silly anti-MS statment of this month... it is always something new...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Sony made $1,674,413,200 profit on PlayStation, Microsoft lost $9,113,000,000 on Xbox.

i fond this report here on vgchartz. Apperently, PlayStation brand is still profitable but if they continiue to lose money they wont be profitable anymore:

Around the Network

1.I want Sony to win because they have didicated themselves to pumping out quality hardware and software.

2. Microsoft makes shoddy products. They are the last company gamers want superceding Sony in the Console War. Where there is MS, there will be a monopolizing on scamming and penny penching gamer's wallets. Not for me.

3. Nintendo's lead with this "casual" push is detrimental to hardcore games. If they stay on top this gen by a sizable win, expect next gen to be monopolized with stuff like Wii Fit and Wii Sports :P . I swear if this happens, I will just give up gaming all together......

4.Playstation 3 is preparation for the future, not just the here and now. If Sony's plan succeeds then that will prove all the haters and bias media heads wrong(which would personally bring me the most joy). So many doubted Sony being able to come through with all there promises but they did and still are. I cant tell you how many people like to point out how arrogant Sony is, saying thats why they shouldn't win. Well NEWS FLASH, Sony had been just as arrogant 2 gens ago and they knew exactly what they were doing then just as they know now. When you are the best at what you do, shouldn't you be a little proud?

Were you around last gen or do you want to conveniently forget about that?

^What is that suppose to mean?
If you are hinting at what I think you are.....
1. PS2 failure rate, not nearly as big an issue at the 360s. Sry. XBOX and Gamecube were really sturdy though. And shoddy doesn't just mean it's failure rate. That also entails the scammish pricing and peripherals.

2.PS2 wasn't that casual, and didn't surround itself with casual games. It had a nice blend of both hardcore and casual.

I didn't say that the ps2's failure rate was as bad as the unacceptable failure rate of the 360.  Sony did however have plent of faulty machines.  The ps3 is a great and durable product, but Sony has just as much history with failing products as Microsoft does.

It is simply impossible for a game to be casual... but gamers can casually play games.  It has been this way (with all games) since the beginning of time and it's not going to change or go away.  I hope that doesn't make you quite your hobby.  Using these labels in any other way is nothing more than misplaced elitism.

Opening thread has been updated and expanded.
The PS3 has turned the corner in the console sales war with a huge September sales month which has seen huge PS3 sales and continuous sales momentum. PS3 is closing in on the XBox 360 in regards to market share and total console sales. PS3 wins 3 weeks in a row and possibly 4 weeks in a row with last week's sales to be updated very soon.
