I heard a decent rumor from a friend. Let me reiterate a friend told me a rumor they heard from someone else. After last years fiasco I would appreciate it if nobody goes blogging with this. In fact I downright refuse permission for you to copy paste of link this rumor. There have been no Wii rumors that I have heard recently on these forums about E3 so this should be pretty fun for the Nintendo fans. Personally I think it sounds like it is plausible, but then again I would love for it to be true, because I would finally have a reason to play my Wii again, because it is about three of my favorite franchises.
RUMOR.
Nintendo is supposedly going to unveil a new peripheral that slot locks both the Wiimote, and the nunchuk into a piloting stick. The nunchuk is the top while the Wii mote is the stick. There will then be a firm base that will allow the Wiimote to pivot, and move back and forth. Like your usual flight control stick. This peripheral will be packed in with one game, and will be usable for at least three games total.
The three games are Pilotwings, Starfox, and Rogue Squadron. The peripheral will be packed in with Pilotwings. Which is supposed to launch this fall along with Starfox. Rogue Squadron will be released late winter/early spring next year. Further more the rumor confirms some things about said games. All three will incorporate online multiplayer. Not merely in competitive play, but in main story mode. So for example in Starfox friends can join you in story mode, and you might even be able to play competitive scoring. In pilotwings you will be able to explore the maps with friends, and create your own modes using the vehicles. We can only hope if true that in Rogue Squadron we could get to take on a Star destroyer with friends.
Enjoy.
