Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter just put out his US console sales estimate for April, putting Wii at 480,000 units, 360 and 275,000, and PS3 at 175,000 PS3 consoles.

The analyst predicted another tough comp for the month, saying he expects sales of $550 million, down 17% compared to last year’s $660 million.

“April presents another month of difficult comparisons (after March’s –17%), with last year’s spectacular launches of Take-Two’s Grand Theft Auto IV selling 2.9 million units and Nintendo’s Mario Kart Wii selling 1.1 million units (combined for $235 million and 36% of April 2008 total sales),” Pachter said in a note.

“The release slate in April 2009 was very light.”

I say he overestimated all three. My guesses (yes, they are guesses...) are:

Wii - 415,000
360 - 210,000
PS3 - 165,000

NPD 2008:

• Wii: 714,000
• 360: 188,000
• PS3: 187,100

VGC Est:

• Wii: 386,379
• 360: 234,923
• PS3: 145,709

Pachter Est:

• Wii: 480,000
• 360: 275,000
• PS3: 175,000

So hes bullish on all the consoles sales by between ~15-25% over our own estimates.

My Estimates:
Wii: 400,000
360: 220,000
PS3: 150,000

Why do people source Pachter? He is as reliable as HipHopGamer....

His estimates suck. Here are mine:

Wii - 400k
X360 - 300k
PS3 - 100k

So, the PS3 is going to stop tracking at a higher sales rate than the 360 did, "during the same time in their lifecycle"? PS3 sales this year

According to that damnable graph, it had a worse holiday season and the weekly line is trending under the Xbox 360s weekly line.
