I think many things could have been learned from "The art of war" In relation to the console wars.
I will lay down several examples and let you decide::
Ex.
1. You cannot stop innovation. (Very similar to how the wii & DS have prospered because of their innovation)
2. If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. ( Similar to the fall of the playstation brand from what it once was and how microsoft and nintendo capitalized on their arrogance)
3. He who knows when he can fight and when he cannot will be victorious. (Similar to when microsoft ended their xbox early in favor of launching the xbox 360.)
4. A skilled commander seeks victory from the situation and does not demand it of his subordinates.
( Like how nintendo leveraged it's tech innovation instead of relying on third party games.)
5. All warfare is based on deception. ( True dat. Especially in the console wars.)
6. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. (Sony worked on a SNES cd add-on.. Remember?)
7. Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy. (happens in PR spin all the time)
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.
