Forums - Sony - UMDless PSP???

Ok so on May the seventh of twothousand and nine I went out to pick up my reserved copy of Patapon2. Upon recieving the box I noticed that it required 610Mb of free space on a memory stick and access to the PSN. Could this possibly be Sony's attempt to prepare for the rumored "UMDless PSP?"
