Forums - Website Topics - Small Request for Game DB

I recently changed to release date of Black Sigil to June 7th, after reading an article written by Signature Devices, who are the owners of Graffitti Entertainment, which stated that the game was delayed to "around June 7th". The date was changed, and I was happy. When I go to the game page again a short time later, it was changed back to may 19th for some strange reason.

Fast-forward to today; on the official website of the publisher, the game is now listed for June 9th (under New Releases on the front page), which looks to be the final release date. My request to change it has seemingly been denied for some reason, and the incorrect May 19th date on this website still stands.

I've been following this game for years, and have been on top of every bit on information. I may be going overboard here, but I'm not happy that my changes have been repeatedly ignored (this isn't the first time I've had a problem with the info on the game's page), and I think that the best way to fix it is to add a comment section where the user can, in a short blurb, say why he or she is making these changes and/or give a valid link for release date changes. I realize that the Game DB admins have a lot of work, but I think that this would help keep the information valid and correct.

Thank you for hearing me out.

I agree with this thread. I hate when release dates are wrong in the database.

For example, the release date of Morrowind is totally wrong. The game was released in Spring 2002 on both PC and Xbox, not in 2003 and 2004 (!) as VGC has it.

^If there are dates wrong you can change them yourselve you don't have to leave it all up to the GDB admins to do all the work. There's 25,000 games in the database you can't expect everyone of them to have all correct info, there's bound to be mistakes.

@Cactus, I'll change the dates after I check everything over

Ok it's changed, could of been easier if you reported the game instead.

Edit: @Slimebeast, the reason why those dates are screwed up is because someone uploaded only the Game of Year box art, and someone must of thought it was the game of the year version and thats the date they used. I'll fix it all.

Oh, yeah thats must be the reason. Thanks for changing! (I was going to try to change the dates for Morrowind by myself, but onew of the dates on Wikipedia was wrong too, and I couldn't find the exact correct one when I surfed around).

Btw, what do u mean by "reporting games"?

There's a link called "Report this game" for every game, anytime there's something wrong with a game or your having a problem getting it fixed you can report it and it'll get looked at by the GDB Admins or the Site Admins. (As long as it's not something like X game doesn't have a date or no box art, because you guys can add those updates yourselves.)

(Also, Morrowind should be all good now, and if you want to find correct information about games Gamefaqs.com is a very reliable website to go to)

^Thanks! Awesome.

In the future, please PM me with release date changes for NA dates and oliist for PAL if you are using a press release and it gets rejected. I keep the American dates updated for the next 2-3 months, and I was the one who deleted your change as I just changed it. Oliist keeps the PAL dates correct for the next 2-3 months.

Also, I'll throw this in there. If you have used the report game option and you still have a problem, you can pm me with any problem and I'll look into it directly and do my best to make sure it is handled appropriately.
