What are "paid email accounts"?

Considering that a lot of people like the "free accounts" because they are not tied up/lost when they change providers (who have to change when their providers change), that is probably not a wise path.

He isn't saying new people should pay. What he's suggesting is that you have to use an e-mail from an ISP or a university or a business instead of using a hotmail account.

NeoGAF does it and it makes people value their accounts a lot.
