is your YoY with the adjustments?
cause it seemed to me Wii was going away from 49%... (slowly) |
I'd discussed this fairly recently actually. Wii got adjusted down a month or 2 ago, was down to 47.7 as of last week, a recent adjustment brought it to 48.9, then fixed finally at 48.6. Over the past few weeks, it gained 0.9 %

We'll know once they release the finantials next week. It's the full-year edition, which means we'll get their 2009-2010 forecast.
Last year they forecasted 10 million units, AKA no price cut...
@Bitmap Frogs: I hope we do get the forecast, but I'm not so sure. SCE will merge with other products, so it's possible there'll be less information from now on.

PS3 and PSP sales are pretty bad. If it goes like this Japan will be a bigger market for sony than america.

Maybe. Apparently it's the last quarter and year they'll report as separate divisions, so we might get the whole shebang.
Moving forward, who knows... at least some guys will get a taste of their own medicine, can't wait for the inevitable "b-b-but it's still losing money, it's just the Vaios propping up the numbers".

Well Japan already has bigger importance to Sony than to any other console maker.
If you look at percentage of stuff sold in Japan compared to WW those for Sony are insanly high.

Wii got adjusted down once again after being adjusted up, so looks like the adjustment didn't have any effect overall. The thing is the other consoles seem to have gotten an adjustment upwards, so that's where the Wii lost percentage points.
Up until this week, Wii's WW numbers were up YoY from 2008 by about 500k. After this week ends, Wii will be down YoY from 2008, because at this week last year the Wii sold 750k units WW. Until Wii Sports Resort launches, we will see the Wii trending very, very negatively and possibly will be down YoY about 1 - 2 million.
I'm now doubting in the predictions Iwata has for FY 2010, it looks like the Wii will fall behind the 26 million by a lot, maybe 21 - 20 million can be more reasonable for FY 2010.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
Sony needs a serious push in NA. They're doing very well in Japan (relative to the other consoles) and are holding their own in Europe, but this...this is just awful.
On the bright side, the fewer consoles Sony sells, the less money they lose
