If I remember correctly they were planning on using uncompressed audio, but it wouldn't all fit.
Personally, I can't tell the difference between uncompressed and compressed audio, so I don't think it really matters.

Get your facts straight. First off, MGS4 wasn't coded badly....at all. Just because a game is large doesn't equate to bad coding. Someone else already posted in here that the actual "game" is abotu 30GB with some extra space used for loading, but still that's 30GB. Having 7.1 lossless surround sound is bad coding? Native ie not upscaled, 1080p graphics is bad coding? Get on somewhere.
Secondly, a single layer BD is 25GB and a dual is 50GB

Isn't DVD dual-layer significantly slower than single-layer? If the same happens with Blu-Ray, a 16 layer disc must be really slow to read on the existing drives...
