I will stick to only this generation.
The biggest failure for me has been Nintendo. I was a huge Nintendo fan from the NES through the 64. Then with the Gamecube I waited, and waited, but all of their games that had made their systems special took horrible turns. Zelda went 2d cell shaded blah, Mario got gay in the sun, and Starfox became an adventure game. I wnated Mario to be the same fun muture experiance I had had on 64, where were Banjo and Kazooi, James Bond, Crusin USA, Rush, Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong and all the other awsome games that made the 64 one of the best consoles ever.
Anyway, I got really exited for the return of Nintendo when the Revelutiuon was announced, and I have to say that the reviel of, launch of, and life to date of the now Wii, is the biggest let down I have ever experianced as a gamer. Sorry that this is a little outside of the question, but I think that it is just as important to note the dissapointing launch of a console, plus I am still unimpressed by the lack of great games that made Nintendo Number one in my book untell round 2002.
Other games include Haze, sounded dumb at first, but then the online aspects turned me onto it. However, after plaing the demo, and thinking, is this 1997, I quickly lost interest.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - I had heard nothing but good about this game. Great scores, nice graphics, and an interesting charicter. So I put down my $60 on it, and what do I get? The biggest piece of garbage, and nonsense I have ever been handed in my life. Crap story, crap controlls, stupid difficulty, and a huge let down.
Resistance 2 - Resistance 1 was a great game, so Resistance 2 should be just as good if not better, thanks to better knowlegde of the platform, and more focus on the game than on the software engine. Wrong. The champain killed the franchise as far as any decent story goes. The gameplay got molested by the stupid 2 weapon, no stratagy to this battle system. The online, while having tons of players, felt like garbage compared to others shooters already on the market. The only + this game had was a cool co-op idea, and I hope Naugty Dog does it the same justice in Uncharted 2.
Xbox 360 - I don't expect great things from my 360, so when a game is good I am happy, when a game is bad, I just brush it off. In many ways I enjoy my 360 more than my Wii or PS3 thanks to that. I am extreamly harsh on Sony because I know they are the best in the buisness, and they should be delivering on that in every game.
Lair was awsome, not up to the hype, but still one of the best storys of this generation.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
