Personally, this would be the worst news in gaming history :(

Duke3D got me started on gaming, computers, everything... ive been waiting very patiently for Duke4 for 10+ years, confident it will be the best game out there...

but if this were true, wow... im going to be sad :(

I for one hold hope that the Duke IP gets bought up by someone who does something really special with it.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

this has now been posted up on IGN

According to Shacknews, the company closed due to financial issues and all employees were let go. A call to customer support was met with a recorded message stating that 3D Realms and Apogee Software could no longer offer live support of its games. However, online orders are still being honored.

If 3D Realms is indeed closed, it's uncertain if Duke Nukem Forever will continue on under the guidance of another developer.
