Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will there be a printer for the DSi?

It'd be cool if they make one of those card size photo printer. It was quite popular about a decade ago. What'd they call those cards? Shiny card or something?

camera quality and pixels are not enough for a decent print anyway.

Perhaps, you should do some research before trashing.

Do you even know how much megapixels needed to print a traditional photo size?

Nintendo did not rape your field nor pillage your women. No need for the hating.

3mpx to 5x7' its nice enough for me =).

i can print 8x10' with my nokia n82

so yes i do know.

dont think so

8.5 x 11 inches = 612 x 792 pixels @ 72ppi (~0.484 Megapixels)

The Lens of the cam is the most important part, not the megapixels.

Now, let's blow that up to really high ppi. 200ppi. This is the photo printing quality, I think.

8.5 x 11 inches = 1700 x 2200 pixels (3.74 Megapixels)

So, what's the megapixels we need to print on a 5x7 photo?

5x7 inches = 1400x1000 pixels = 1.4 megapixels

Realistically, you wouldn't want to print anything larger than a credit card size from the pics you mess around with in the DSi.

Credit size = 86 x 54 mm = 677 x 425 pixels @ 200ppi = 0.287725 megapixels

Okay, I am done doing math :)

those are the minimum requirements, a 8x10' on 5mpx will look sharper have more detail. using the same lens and type of sensor

dsi doesn't have carl zeiss of leica lens either. its like a phone camera , i will said again why would anyone would want to print a "credit size" with no autofocus, CMOS sensor. though that changed now.

http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_7610-review-2p3.php 2004 camera phone. phones with similar specs can be found by less a 100$ now.

http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n82-review-195p6.php 2007 camera phone

edit: and no i don't hate nintendo, but i am highly critical on everything.

For the same reason people watch SD video, listen to mp3s at 128kbits, play games in resolutions less than 1920x1080, use the crappy ipod ear buds and still use camera phones; because the cost/inconvenience of moving onto something better doesn't outweigh the benifits to them, which in most cases is nothing, cause the value isn't in the fidelity, but in the message/moment the picture/audio is capturing.

So, any cam that doesn't do carl zeiss of leica are crap now?

You know who makes DSi lenses? And they are crap because of?

thats what you said. "lens it's the most important part"

and they are plastic lens.used in cellphones etc etc.

So, you're fine with plastic lens for your cellphone but not DSi?
And how do you know the DSi has a plastic lens?

I doubt it. You'd just remove the SD card and pop it into one of those compact photo printers, and voila!
