You know it's getting bad when Sony is putting their hope in the PSP. I'm not trying to troll or anything, but they should be focusing on the PS3 as much as possible.

They could just be trying to make PSP into a power seller so it can help support a PS3 pricecut and also PS2 in is on its last legs:(

The only way I see Sony being able to make a PS3 price cut is to just introduce a gimped model. I'm not sure how they'd pull of it off (since they make so many expensive things necessary features), but it would still help. Most people would rather just play some good games at a reasonable price than have a bunch of convenient media features.

In my opinion, Sony's strategy with the PSP should be continuing to make progress in Japan. Every time a dominant console maker has fallen from grace, Japan was the first place to go (correct me if I'm wrong). If Sony ever plans to take back the market, or even just compete, they'll need Japan. No matter how small the market in Japan has become, it's still significant.

I'm glad to see them pushing the PSP. I don't want them to just let it sit there, and only have them making games for Japan. I do agree that they need to focus a lot on the PS3, but getting all these games for the PSP is definitely a good thing. I can say for sure that I'll be buying quite a few PSP games this year; probably a lot more than I will for my PS3 (partly because I can't take my PS3 to college with me...)

Yea, you know it's bad when Sony starts concentrating on one of the few things that actually makes them money...

They've been ignoring the PSP for way too long now, giving the PS3 almost all the attention, I think it's time they spread the resources a bit more evenly.

If that ends up true, I am going to have to beat you to death with your own Wii (no pun intended).

A console maker will be making major gaming announcements at a gaming conference? I'll believe it when I see it.

Well after 2008 it's no so sure anymore :)

Well, there will still be plenty of PS3 announcements I'm sure, it's just that Sony has neglected the PSP for a good three years, and they only seem to be realising NOW that if they actually gave it just a little bit of support, it would sell.

Look at the weekly sales. Despite the PSP getting some five good games in two years, it's almost selling as much as the PS3, which has gotten a good thirty.

It's great how Sony are re-focusing on the PSP. But it's the PS3 that should be getting most of their attention at E3 though.

All Good.

How is it bad that they are announcing PSP news?

WHat would they change to the PS3? Nothing, that's what it's perfect the way it is.....

Now, GAMES for the PS3 is what they are going to announce, but nothing really about the PS3.
