Its kinda dumb, a lot of people are bitching about ie being built into ms.

If the same argument happens, it shouldn't have even be bought into consideration.

I'm not saying I'm for or against the topic being proposed, but I think Windows and Internet Explorer are different than Sony integrating a video game console inside some of their TV's.

How so?

Microsoft made vista and people are complaining that they put an easy chance for people to chose ie. Where as if sony put a competitor to PAID units, as opposed MS putting a competitor for FREE browsers.

How is it fair for the opposition.

You could say its different because not everyone has sony tv's, well especially not the percentage of vista/xp/ microsoft operating systems. But we can't really have different devices for companies just because they are more successful.

In honesty i have nothing against Sony ps3's, or their tv's. As a matter of fact i have both, but the bravia's are too expensive at the moment, to OT, In theory good idea. In practice though not so good, corporate issues would prevent such a thing. In Australia we have ACCC (australian consumer... something commission.) I am sure that america has something like that, same as Japan and it just wouldn't allow it. It is just too much competion.

I love the idea, I'm still waiting the day PC's are built into TV's, itll come, just a matter of time... I think the Cell Processor in TV's will help make this a reality (PC's in TV's, not PS3)

The downsides of a PS3 in a TV is what if the PS3 goes bad... you have to send the whole TV back? or maybe an option of being able to disconnected the PS3 from the back or something

Anyway, I think the future of TV's will indeed have PC's in them, consoles would be great, but i doubt itd happen any time soon...Though it would help Sony if they sold Sony PS3 in their Sony TV's :D

This is the reason it will never happen. It would be a huge headache for a lot of people. You cannot be expected to send a TV back if the built in PS3 malfunctions.

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

Why would you hate this idea?

Thats a nearly $2000 TV. I say no....Sony is already having a hard time in the electronics department. Sony did ok last year, but not good in sales for their LCD TV's with Panasonic not far behind, but Samsung destroyed them both. Sony charges too much for TV's thats aren't even the best on the market. Sony is right behind LG and Sharp.

doing this same concept but with a Pc or an ONLIVE type box is the future.

Nintendo already tried something similar with the SNES. Anyway I think it a bad idea since if either unit would fail it would be a huge headache to send back for repairs.

If this were to happen, would there be fanboys crying over PS3 being bundled with a TV? That's my main issue, don't want another Wii Sports War :p
It's a cool idea though.

that is the main arguemnt against ie, the fan boys are the ones complaining. The only ones wh can tell the difference are the ones that find alternatives, your common joe bloggs cannot.

No. Anything that is built into a TV is a major pain in the butt! What do u do if it needs repairing, send your whole TV back to SONY? Yeh, right.

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Opinions are subjective and just like moods, can change.

TOP 12: Deus Ex, Shadow Man, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturn, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Metroid Prime, Zelda (series), Uncharted (series), FF Tactics, Persona (series), Demons Souls, Vagrant Story.

MOST WANTED: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Last Guardian, ICO/Shadow OTC HD

Well they were already giving away PS3s for free at other stores... but...

No. It'd be like those TVs with built in VCRs. THe VCR breaks and your screwed.

Now if they bundled them together....
