That looks pretty damn good, I wonder how it will do with the controls...

Why would controls be a problem? A D-pad and four face buttons should work just fine for Soul Calibur.

And might I add that I'm miffed that the PSP gets a more serious Soul Calibur than the Wii got. Heck, if they leave out the incomprehensible Jedi, it'll be a more serious Soul Calibur than the HD consoles got.

I can't remember what fighters use what controls, I just thought it used the R2/L2 buttons.

Just four. Guard, vertical attack, horizontal attack, and kick. Unless they've changed things up since the first two games.

I know there are grabs as well, but I guess they would sit on a shoulder button. Can't remember what else there is in SC4

Most moves are done by pressing multiple buttons.

Wow, this looks absolutely excellent!

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

The shoulder buttons are only for combination's of buttons like punch -guard punch-kick that sort of thing, their shortcuts not new commands its been done since the first soul calibur on dreamcast

wait.. what?

that can't be psp graphics.

it looks almost like the HD version.

This pretty much confirms a new PSP is comming. Those of graphics are on par with the gamecube

No it doesn't. The PSP is essentially a portable PS2. In fact the CPU and GPU in the PSP run slightly faster than those in the PS2. The PSP CPU runs at 333mhz the PS2 and 294mhz, the GPU of the PSP runs at 166mhz and the PS2 147mhz. When you combine that with the fact that the PSP runs games at 480x272 and the PS2 had to run them in 640x480 it actually tilts the edge in the PSP's favor. The PSP has a faster chipset than the PS2 and it runs games in a lower native resolution.

The reason PSP games having been looking so much better as of late is because Sony had restricted developers from running the PSP at full speed for the purposes of battery life. The initial limit was 222mhz for the cpu and 111mhz for the GPU. They later upped that to 266mhz CPU and 133mhz GPU. God of War: Chains of Olympus on PSP was the first game that was allowed to use the PSP hardware at the full 333mhz CPU/166mhz GPU clock rate.

God of War CoO may look good, but it doesn't look that good.

It was a long winded explanation of why Soul Calibur on PSP looks so good while not indicating a new PSP is coming. Developers can finally tap fully into the PSP hardware.

If this comes out with an online mode it's a must-have for me!
