Those numbers are roughly the same ratio of 360 to PS3 owners, so whats the problem?

uh? What's your point? cod:waw sold more on xbox than ps3 too.

I was going to be really clever and highlight how the traditional shooter gap between the two consoles was changing in current trends. I though that the ratio of units sold between the two consoles would have decreased over time. Sadly because like a retard I didn't check before I opened my mouth, the ratio of 360 copies sold to PS3 copies is the same at 1.7 so I have no point. I can only sum up my post as complete and utter fail of the most mammoth proportions

This is pretty old and obvious. Considering the 360 is the leading platform in FPS, its no surprise Call of Duty 4 sold well on that console.

Not only does the 360 have shooters that get mega sales but it also gets better sales in just about every genre compared to the PS3. I mean look at the numbers, you'll see the 360 typically gets better numbers in JRPG, WRPG, Racing, football, basketball, music games, kids games, etc. The only genre PS3 wins in a regular basis is Soccer.
