I think I get it now. What the X-Box lovers are trying to say is that since they pay for online gaming it "feels good" to know that if some chance in hell they meet a chick on live it's cool to have some personal info for her to check out like:

"Hey babe not only am I a total beast at Gears of War but look I'm also a Gemini and I'm fond of death metal and sushi how about you? Let's take our Mii's out for a long walk on the beach."

Personally I think you'd have a better chance surfing Myspace or Facebook or match.com or something. Besides this semi weird point of being more "personal", achievements seem pretty inferior to me.

I'd agree on the loading/sync time - it does seem slow. Everything else seemed like a matter of opinion - for example the use of Gold, Silver, Bronze, etc. That's an opinion - you can't really quantify that its somehow inferior to a points system.

I'm not too fond of Trophies/Achievements but they deliver essentially the same result so far as I can see.

Copying M$? The only reason trophies are here is because Sony actually listens to their userbase. If we didn't complain for trophies, in game xmb, etc, we would've never got them

 Oh, go play with your mii....or is it an avatar? I forget seeing as how it's a blatant rip off that was first implemented with the wii. And when you navigate your 360, guess what the "blades" layout was influenced by? That's right, the PS3's XMB. Oh, and achievements are nothing new, I give a hand to Microsoft for implementing them the way that they did at the beginning of the 360's life, but it wasn't really a new idea. The fact is that all company's rip off other companies. To imply that only sony does is hilarious. Lips was ripped off from Singstar for example.

This is just a fanboy rant. I think the whole article is the reverse. Trophies offer so much more in value. Threads have been made saying that skill base is alot different in getting trophies/achievements i.e. most people on the 360 can play lots of games and achieve a high gamer score, where as getting platinum status takes a lot of skills and it is recognized (Good work VGC Platinum holders).

Also, unlockable's for home are sweet. I have been getting items for home from playing games; and the the fact that one day soon Platinum's will offer rewards such as beta codes, sneak previews to demo's is quite rewarding.

Trophies to me are more appealing. Getting a platinum makes you feel great and you bloody know the hard work that goes into it. I have a lot of gaming respect for those who do get platinum's. Achievements are great too, but Trophies are a better system overall imo.

Sony listens to their userbase???? Huh you could have fooled me.....is that why they REMOVED BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY??

And is that also why sony forced a blu-ray format down your throat that has nothing to do with gaming...except mandatory installs.
