GT5 have 900 cars

I don't think so...

It takes a lot longer to model a car for the PS3 than it does for the PS2. Polyphony only had time for 180 when they made the generational leap last gen with GT3. Maybe GT6 will have 900 cars...

So I take it Forza 3's cars aren't likely to be as detailed? Is this a significant difference in model complexity or is it relatively minor?

Judging by the standard set on GT5P and FM2 I guess Gran Turismo cars will be more detailed.  That's just on the exterior models.  I do hope they include cockipit view in Forza3 too, and G25 compatibility.  If they do I will consider buying a 360 for it.

G25 compatibility... Thats the one! I find the Xbox 360 racing wheels to be really mediocre, but I will be almost as happy if they create one of their own which is almost as good... But still its no G25 with 3 platform compatibility PS3/PC/360....

Wow hold on a sec. 360 Wireless wheel is very very good. I own it, and as you all know am a massive real life racing fan.

The force feedback is better than the G25 wheels. And the wheel feels much sturdier. None of it feels plasticy at all. The only thing it doesnt have is a gear lever. But obviously it has the paddles, which I will add is the best paddles Ive used. Saying that as a F1 fan, thats the only way I will use the gears. :)

Heres a review of it, and the force feedback in action.

Why the hunger for 100's of tracks and 1000's of cars.... Surely most people get bored a long while before they get through all of that content.

Give me a couple of hundred cars... and please not 10's of nissans (datsuns) and 40 or so PROPER individual tracks and I would be happy.

I agree with this, I don't need all those cars.... more tracks are of course welcome in a game.... but I would be happy with 20 cars as long as they are different enough from each other.... between 20 and 100 is gravy, more than that and I don't see the point, it's a flooded plate.

come on. 400 cars, 500 or 600... That is just stupid. I mean, if there are "only" 100 cars, nobody would complain and say: Hey, I need more cars for this game to be great. This is just about ePenis if you ask me. That goes for every racing game, no matter on which console.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Well, all I know is I am still waiting to play GT5 but it look like I will be playing the next Forza before GT5 will be out.

Why does it matter what GT5 going to have if Polyphony never seem to be done with the game...

"the driving got intense, just a little longer till the finish line, AHHH im going to win!"
"Insert disk 2 to finish the fight... i mean race."
"WHAAAAAAA?!"

For starters the 360 wheel has no H shifter, not even sequential, plus it lacks clutch.  Your comments on the G25 being less sturdy and having worst force feedback than this 360 wheel are quite baseless I think.

The G25 is not the perfect wheel, but certainly the best mass market one. There are known issues like the shifter could have a better feeling when changing gears, etc. but these are not major problems.  If you want something better prepare your wallet and get yourself some ECCI or TSW wheel.

@Selnor, i noticed the best ones always dont have a Gear lever.

2 things I dont want the wheel to have.

1. a clutch.

2. H shifter.

I dont mind the lever for sequential but thats it.

I am lucky enough to have driven a touring car ( my uncles built one, BMW M3 ). Racing cars dont have clutch pedles. I am a racer through and through. I own a G25 wheel with modded drivers for GTR 2 on my PC. And yes it's force feedback is not as good. And it feels more plasticy.

main things the wheel needs for me is precise force feedback, and good paddle shifters. When F1 game arrives next year those paddles have to be damn good.

G25 is a good wheel, but it's not worth it's price tag. Also I will say the 360 wireless wheel has had reports of some issues ( just replace it ) and it's not actually wireless entirely. You have to plug it in to the power point for force feedback to work.

I rather have unique race car than 10 variations of Nissan Skyline. The only thing I find lacking for Forza 2 (after months of playing) was the lack of tracks. I was hoping for DLC of more tracks but when they arrived (2 to be exact) they weren't intergrate into the game.

I would love to see something like Championship series in Race Pro where you get variety of racing but you have to stick to one type of cars just as you would if you drive for a team.

The cockpit view is just eye candy as they are a pain in the butt to drive in (unless you have really giant screen(s) and sit up close to it). I find sitting 10 feet away from the monitor while in cockpit view to take away that immersion and thus prefer the bonnet cam view. (though I can see if you have 360 hook up to monitor). For me it's nice to have but I would rather have they model 10 more tracks than bunch of dashboard.

One thing I do find to be a nice compromise is what PGR4 and TD did is that have the speedormeter model after the real car style while you in bonnet cam or bumper cam. It help give nice illusion of driving in different car but not force you to look out small little area of your monitor.
