Forums - Nintendo - June - Might be the worst month for Nintendo fans on any forum.

I think think nimtendo's E3 is going to be either meh or good which still a big improvement from last year. But if the conduit could just do 250k first week worldwide then the nintendo bashing would at least be reasonable and not a giant unyielding cluster****.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

Honestly, I'd be pleasantly surprised if it did that much in its first week.

June will be a pleasent surprise for fans and naysayers to say the least.

Things that need to die in 2016: Defeatist attitudes of Nintendo fans

Three huge things are going to happen in June for Nintendo.

  • The Conduit release. First off I dont think this gonna sell millions or push hardware. I do think its gonna sell good overtime but the first week/month sales wont be 1 million. Because of that no matter what forum or site you go to there will be an endless amount of shit talking.
  • WiiMotion+ This also releases in June. Its gonna kick off to a slow start and again regardless of anything people will talk more shit. Slow sales no games announced that are gonna support etc. Tons of articles bitching about this is how it shouldve been from the beginning and all that.
  • E3. This is what can make this month either extremly easier or extremely harder. Like always nobody knows what to expect from Nintendo. If they announce NA release dates for games from the Fall Media Summit that wont satisfy enough people and bitching continues. If they announce a ton of awesome stuff then people cant really say anything
    If they repeat last year........

Thoughts?

Huh? Worst = Best?

I think The Conduit will get *good* reviews, and regardless of sales - its going to show how a FPS can be made well on the Wii. This is only a positive thing. Even Halo3 gets "shit talking", but its still a positive experience for the 360.

WiiMotion+ is going to make Wii sales explode, and get everyone excited about the Wii again. New games will be announced, new experiences had - its going to be the "new frontier" really. Bitching there will be - but it will definitely be in the minority. Heck, people are bitching about the Wii *every* month or week, even when the sales explode.

E3 - E3 will be huge for all three companies, and will have lots of positives. I don't think there will be any clear "losers", although there might be a clear winner. Much depends on what MS does.

But after last year, Nintendo (and Sony) will be out to impress at E3 - its all guns blazing time...

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

I don't think Conduit will do well at all. Just look at the history of shooters on the Wii. The best selling FPS on wii is Resident Evil 4 at 1.57 million. Compare that to 8 shooters on PS3 that have sold at least 1.58 million (including GTA4). And more on 360 for sure.

E3 and Wii motion will be minor things for wii owners.

I would be carefull about Conduit legs.
If you look at the data for the last year or so legs of Wii software are highly related to Wii hardware sales.
So games aren't going to have the same legs if the Wii sales 250k units/week as if it sells 350k+...( just check CoD:Waw weekly wii sales for example and see how when Wii sales started to dip down to 220k/week, the unit sales dipped at the same time).
I've always believed that part of the legs most games had on Wii were related to new owners picking up games and as the pace at which new Wii owners appear slows so will the legs of most Wii games...( Mario Kart weekly sales = roughly 40% of Wii weekly sales..)

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I don't think you have to worry about Wii Sports Resort/Motion+ sales unless it turns out so bad that none but the most unimformed gamers will be dumb enough to buy it (Wii Music).

The hardware boost is more important, particularly in Japan.
