I'm guessing that without bundling, it'll do 4-5M sales. The GT series is losing steam. I have been through every GT made to 100% compeltion but I am at the point no that I don't even care if GT5 comes out. While I wait for that for what seems an eternity I played Forza 2 and now I see no reason at all to go back or remain excited for a game that doesn't exist yet.

Alot of the people that bought that $40 demo were more than a little dissapointed the game hadn' evolved in any way besides from a visual standpoint.

Totally agree!

I'll be in line to buy Forza 3 and not GT5 (I own 360 and PS3), the "Demo" was a huge let down, superb graphics in the replays (not great in game though) but crap gameplay, handling, physics, no damage, really was a joke of a game,

I think Forza 3 will beat GT5 sales wise (and review scores too) specially if Microsoft bundle it which no doubt they will (360 always outsells ps3, if forza 3 and GT5 are bundled Forza 3 will beat it because 360 outsells ps3, not hard to work out), the 360 has a much larger install base meaning Forza 3 will have a better chance of outselling GT5,

It really is a no brainier but try telling that to sony fanboys.....

Here is the deal with Gran Tursimo 5. Sony and Polyphony have to nail this game or they are looking at a staled out franchise. My family has been into GT like no other game since the days of GT1, and that has continued all the way through GT4. GT5:P on the other hand has all the sudden hit a point were no one in my family has any care for GT any more. Even with the addition of their horrible online, GT5:P has just took all the wind out of GT's sales. I think it could have been a tragic mistake releasing GT5:P, because I feel that it did a piss poor job of showing any player what is going to make GT5 any better than GT4 besides graphics.

With that said, here is what I think Sony has to have for GT to gain back any love;

Interactive World

-The cars and the world have hit a point were they are nearly identical to the real thing, but the game still has cars bouncing around with absolutly no effect. This makes the game feel corny and outdated in todays market. GT5 needs a complete physics overhual that makes it so hitting walls of tire, cement, or steel rails actually has some cosmetic effect on the world. They need to make your actions on the track effect the race, and make you feel like the experiance is as real as the presentation. When you bump an AI oppnent in the rear quarter they should spin out or at least get a little loose. To most people I know GT almost feels like a real life version of Pixel Junk Racers, due to the stiffness of the AI drivers, and the super artificial feel of the whole experiance.

Weather

-GT needs to bring weather into the equation. Cold temperatures give the cars more power, but make it loose on in the corners, while hot weather is visa versa. Rain is a real life situation in many GT events, and is something that should be there for the 24hr races.

Customization

-GT started the whole car customization craze, and somehow they have went from innovator to almost last place. GT5 needs to bring back the innovation. GT fans want to be able to slap a ford nine inch in the back of their 68 Mustang, with 3.73 gears, and their choice of a limited slip, solid, or true track locker setup. We want to be able to buy a used Corvette, and drop in a ZO6 motor, andd chassie in it. GT fans want to be able to make each and every car they own feel special to them, and with online the need is even greater. To most car people there is nothing lamer than seeing 16 cars on the track that all look stock and boring. GT fans want custom hoods, paint, spoilers, wheels, and more. We want are cars to stand out from the croowd, and when people see my custom 1981 Corvette in the lineup they feel the heat.

Online

-GT needs to be the showcase of online racers. It should be the ultimate place to go for either a tournament, or a quick race with 6 buddies. I mean what else can I say. In this day and age, with a game of this caliber, the online should be so seamless that it just happens.

So there it is. Those are the basic things that GT needs to get back in the game. It should be a simple task when you consider the size and dedication of the team. Seriously, if a team that size can not pull of this simple of stuff, in a 5+ year time frame, then Sony needs to step in, and take controll of the situation, because that is out of hand.

Damn good post dude!!!  I agree a 100%

If GT5 has those features consider me hooked!!

GT5 could simply be prologue with more cars and tracks and no upgrade at all besides that........it would sell 8 million.

Forza 3 could 1up GT5 in every possible way.......it would not sell close to 8 million.

GT has a tremendous following, I think it is just getting to some people that the game will at worst come very close to Halo 3 sales. I have no idea why though, could be because the "PS3 exclusives don't sell" line would die a terrible death.

I on the other hand fucking love the GT franchise, no other racing sim has ever touched. Also KBG29 prologue has sold 3 million, I pity you if you think it has done anything to dent the sales of the full game. You do know huge GT fans aka me have not purchased the prologue because it is a rip off right?

Online seems to have helped so many games this generation, online in GT5 could easily increase legs which is scray to say the least.

I don't think it can hit 14.87 million, because GT3 was on a console on the way up. Selling like hotcakes (at least, after the price cut). The PS3 base will will be lucky to hit half of 120 million.

Of course, it's not simple arithmetic. I predict 8-10 million LT.

Amar hinted at a December 2010 or March 2010 release date, by that time I would be tremendously shocked if the PS3 did not get a price cut. As said before GT is a big franchise with a casual and core following and a £200 PS3 would have GT5 selling 1 million in the UK in no time.

It is the one game Sony has to sell systems, I would not be shocked at all if the top guys at Sony told PD that the game will release when the PS3 drops in price and not before.

I dont understand how you live on the planet earth and have formed these opinions. You will be proven so wrong in time.

Do you think before you write things? This is absolutely the most unbelievable post probably ever. You think Forza stands any chance in hell of outselling GT5,  Gran Tur-fucking- rismo?

You are out of your mind, absolutely crazy.

Totally nuts.

btw, I have both consoles, and I might buy Forza also, but this illogical nonsense that you have posted here followed by "try telling that to Sony fanboys" can not exist without a discussion.

Ohh, god the frustration is choking me.

I cant even think of a hypothetical that would be an accurate parallel to what you have posted here.

like ;  I bet sega will release another console at E3 of which has secured exclusivity to the next gta and all EA games...

Even a prediction like that caries more validity than the inconceivable nonsense you pretend to believe.

Ohh , who do you think you are.. jesus.. you're just gonna go and turn water into whine, by turning forza into anything greater than GT5.

I need to take a breather, anafalactic shock is setting in here...

Spoken like a true car fan. That is why Forza leapfrogged, beat, and then spun around and anally raped the GT series in my eyes.

Polyphony has a goldmine on their hands. If they continue their steadfast refusal to move forward with innovation, I will continue to put the franchise in my rear view mirror.

Sony has a real chance to do something special with GT5. If they don't match Forza 2 physically and optional-wise, it's a failure. I really want GT5 to be Forza 2 plus options and graphics but at this point, I'm pretty damned skeptical.
