Forums - Sales Discussion - Nintendo will take the Sony route.

They are going to wait out this Japanese slump until eternity.

If Sony, with their "dismal" sales of the PS3 earlier this year didn't do a price drop, Nintendo in their conservative ways will take it one step further.

For example, They will wait for Wii Sports Resort (which I think will do minimal help) and then wait until November. The doom and gloom won't phase into taking drastic action.

Doom and gloom? I am pretty sure Nintendo knows that it will continue to sell. Yea they finally hit that supply over demand, but they probably don't have to drop the price for at least another year. Next, year they may consider a price drop when the numbers fall below 200k a month, but even then I doubt they will. They will come out with different packages and colors before that.

I'm just saying...

That makes sense...kinda like how the Architect of the Matrix didn't worry about Neo and his band of rebels. I mean, what could possibly...oh wait.......

Yeah too bad Agent Smith went rouge causing him to take over the matrix which then Neo went in to fight and died to bring peace between humans and machines.

Wait...so Sony is going to fight someone who's trying take over and die so Nintendo can prosper?  Sweet.

I don't think Nintendo will cut the price anytime soon, but they've still got a couple of demand-spiking tricks they can use without cutting the price. My guess for the first: new colors.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Nintendo is making money on every system sold. They will drop the price when they are good and ready.

Nintendo won't take the Sony route. They make profit. Sony don't.

they will not do a price drop. Nintendo could care less about sales at this point all they care about now is raking in the cash
