I predict
120k first week sales.

If Amazon is any indicator, it hasn't been doing all that hot. Every time I've looked it's been at #10 or below.
Should be around 200K. Didn't Warhawk do over 100K first week for the BR copies? I think this game should be easily over 200K
| roadkillers said: Roughly overall this week I expect sales of around 140,000. That may seem like a lot but this is suppost to be one of PS3's big games of this year. The big three are Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, and Ratchet. Lair was hyped to be a big savior too but that didnt turn out so great. Plus I dont think Sony expected Warhawk to sell this much this fast. Sure its not much but they were not really hyping Warhawk after it lost its single player. |
... there was no "big three" it was a bunch of "big titles" Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, and Ratchet are just 3 of them. Warhawk has been another major title since they showed it off at E3'05. SOCOM/Haze/UT3 are too. And I think you dont realize that Sony had been showing Warhawk off on it's playb3yond site.

150k to 200k anywhere in their sounds like a success and reasonable to me
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.
Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.
There's no reason it should be beneath 200k, and if it is, the game can be considered a dissapointment. Bioshock was able to get 700k and MP3 roughly 400k their first weeks, so I'd hope Heavenly sword would at least be able to meet MP3 standards. Didn't Lair almost sell 200k its first week?
I went to six game stores over the weekend to reserve some games and use up some giftcards, and out of the 50 copies they had, 6 had been sold.
This was on Saturday though. I tried convincing my PS3 owning friends to buy it but no one seemed interested, even though they like God of War. New IPs have alot of trouble I think.
I'm thinking a pretty low debut with very good legs.

I hope its not a consumer fear of the game being another Lair, not all Sony games are made by factor 5 people.
