Yup, it's definitely no wonder that most of Europe looks down on the Us citizents.

I mean some of you guys are defending waterboarding because other nations have raped children? damn, how about looking into your own army, there was a report released some two weeks ago stating that over 20% of all the female soldiers staioned in Afghanistan and Iraq, since the beginning of the "crusade", were raped by their own comrades. On duty.

You americans can be just as big monsters as any other nation but the difference is that you have enough power to sweep it under the rug or at least sugarcoat it. Remember those WMD's in Iraq? riighht.........

Oh and what vlad said, statistically he did give the Us more than what a statistical american could give with the same time spent on educating himself. You REALLY do have a quite poor educational system compared to most of Europe. It's only the universities that stand out and even there a crapload of students are from overseas.

I believe that the era after Civil war and before the Great war, was considered the golden age. The WW2 to 70s could also be considered a Golden age.

Dude, that was uncalled for man....and it is not like he is not telling the truth...our american education system has a lot to work on...if we are still debating on whether or not to teach the theory of evolution in our education system, or say that you must teach creationism (which I believe should be relegated to Sunday School, since that is what religion teaches and religion should not mix with state as stated by the constitution), then we should fix that before criticizing others.

The thing is Europeans and perhaps the rest of the world do respect Americans and see them as generally good people. 99% of Americans are genuinely very nice people, this obvious even from just reading thee forums. But you get the odd American who comes along and just basically says "Yeah we're the best country no question. If it wasn't for us the rest of the world would be speaking German, we are the strongest most morally perfect nation ever",

It that's the attitude that makes people not appreciate Americans, it is hard to appreciate a persons views with a god complex like that. It ruins it for the people who genuinely do give positive views of America. Again I can't stress enough that it is the tiny minoroty that say that, but it is that people do.

Get your facts straight. He was waterboarded only a few times, they poured water on him a total of 186 times TOTAL during the few waterboarding sessions. Nice try, though.

EDIT: And by the way, the guy they squirted in the face with water 186 times was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the admitted (and proud) mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. He is responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians. If you have a problem with them squirting him in the face with water after what he did, you are truly out of your freaking mind.
