Sure.Just the wii=ps1 and the wii 2=ps2.

the ps1 had lots of casual games?

Oh lordy you have no idea.....

 NOT A PLAYSTATION FAN!

XD

But seriously, it had just as much shovel ware and casual games as the wii, the only diffrence is that they didn't have the word Party in the title.

The Wii is now a few months away from turning 3 years old, and despite being the market leader, outselling both HD systems on a regular basis, it still doesn´t have  a library worthy of the clear leader...now, opinions are opinions, and there are a lot of people who prefer the Wii´s library over the others, but what I mean by the title is in relation to the effort and consideration 3rd parties have always given to previous market leaders.

Is this you not liking the library or just assuming everyone doesn't like the Wii's library?

Pick any genre and the Wii has the best or near best to offer.

Can you please tell me what these games are.  The only one i can think of is Platformer and even then SMG is not great.

EDIT: actually i was wrong about SMG, LBP walks all over it.  So now you have no genre with any possible games that can match the other consoles.

I could waste time writing my response again, but I'll just point you to this thread.  I have a respone here where the only things that the Wii isn't the top are shooters and RPG's.

I didn't list shooters as the top because the Wii isn't the top shooter but that doesn't mean it has good ones (notice I also said near best).  I didn't list RPG's because I don't know Wii RPG's that well but someone else lists very many good ones later in the thread so that's the other near best one.

And I'm sorry, but Little Big Planet is not nearly as great as people make it out to be.  It's an average platformer with a decent level editor and an excellent art style.  To say it's better than Super Mario Galaxy is only foolish and about as stupid as saying the PS3 has no games.

You list is like a horrible joke full of bad games that only a wiifanboys would declare better then anything on the other systems.

And SMG is a busted game with bad controls and bad camera. With average platforming which cannot compete with the ratchet series or any of the 2D mario's.

I must have had a fixed copy along with every other reviewer out there because I don't remember busted controls or a busted camera.

Seriously, I doubt a game with something as major as busted controls or a busted camera would average a 97 on Metacritic.

The MGS and RE series have always suffered from bad controls/camera and look how well they scored.

To be fair, isn't that GTA IV's score? Although I guess the problem was less busted camera than sudden pop-up...

it has the potential but ever since the N64 Nintendo has treated 3rd party comapnies like their not important and its coming back to bite them.

Actually, you could say that's been Nintendo's attitude since the NES. They actually started to lighten up considerably during the N64 era (the serving of humble pie probably contributed).

I think nintendo itself only wants wii 2, wii 3 and wii 4 at this point. Money talks, BS walks

So now I'm confused.  Super Mario Galaxy is a busted game because of its bad controls and bad camera, but Metal Gear Solid 4's busted camaera and controls make the PS3 have the superior action/adventure games?

I never said MGS4 made the PS3 have better games, my point was that bad controls and camera don't make a game score low.  And my opinion of the MGS series is not very high.  We can look at Killzone2 for example, its controls were god awful and i have no idea how GG could think people move like that in real life, but that game scored great overall based on the best sounding game and best looking game of all time.

I hope not. with the SNES, Nintendo got lost from it blue ocean philosophy and right now that's what makes the wii so special.

OBVIOUSLY it will have HD graphics and other updates but I hope they contunue growing the market like they are doing.

@twestern

Your list of games claiming the Wii's line-up is better than PS3 / 360's is awful.

Action/Adventure: Yes the Wii has some good games here, but don't ignore games like Uncharted, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Banjo Kazoo(360 game), RE5, DMC4 and Assassin's Creed to name a few. The HD consoles have enough AA - AAA games to match what the Wii offers.

Platformer: Ratchet and Clank Future games, LittleBigPlanet, etc. Again the Wii has an amazing game (Super Mario Galaxy) but if you don't like SMG then Wii has virtually nothing to offer...

Racing: PS3 has GT, Motorstorm, Ridge Racer, Wipeout HD and more. 360 has Project Gotham series and Forza. Again Mario Kart is a great game but its only one game...

Fighting: Sure Brawl is amazing, again PS3/360 offer more games. Though ill give you this one.

Shooting: PS3 has resistance / Killzone / modern warfare, 360 has GeOW / Halo / etc. The wii suffers from a lack of good FPS ...

RPG: Definitely goes to 360, followed by PS3 with Wii in the distant background.

Overall -- the OP is right when he says the Wii is lacking a good library of games. The Wii's library focuses on a small number of excellent games (most of which are 1st party and often appeared on previous Nintendo consoles).

Wiimote is just something you have to get used to like dual analog shooters, once you are good with it, the problems pretty much disappear into thin air, other than that, I think the only time I bitched about SMG camera angle is the stage with a lot of lava flying around and every platform slowly sinking only later to realize that I wasn't pushing the analog stick efficiently enough so that was my own fault. I also hope you are not bitching about the last few galaxies, those are supposed to be hard.
