Yeah Kill Zone 2 had a massive marketing push, especially here in America.

I have to agree with Seece here, I saw quite a few KZ2 ads on tv on the major market stations for gamers - Adult Swim on cartoon network, comedy central, g4tv.
No matter how awesome a game is, paying more than 450 bucks (KZ2 + PS3) in this economy just to play the game is something very few gamers do.
hmmmm even with the very likely 360 overtracked data (look at NPD vs VGC last couple of months) the PS3 managed to stay on top for this week. Commendable.

360 was undertracked and then adjusted again, don't you get bored of posting?
You know why PS3 stayed on top and you know next week its going to be bad for the PS3. Bottom line.
WOO HOO Sony FTW, ok my fanboy moment is over back to drooling over Uncharted 2!!!

PS3 sales in US are bad. I think there are three major factors: 1) price - its just too high right now despite what you get arguably being worth it at face value (HD console & BR player) 2) Wii - I know 360/PS3 are the HD twins but in comparing to PS2 it's the Wii that's the problem in many ways. It's eating up a large chunk of more general gamers who prevously clearly went with PS2 while PS3 seems to be viewed as the 'more expensive HD console' rather than something closer to Wii/PS2. 3) Live/360 1 year lead - 360 is established with many as where to go to play your friends and the standard for online gaming - this is a big barrier for PS3 as even if you fancy one if your friends are on 360/Live why would you cut yourself off from that? The 1 year lead really helped give 360 a big lead with the hardcore shooter/online crowd vs PS3 (and despite the critical success of KZ2 and Resistance 2 it's clear from the sales where the majority of shooter gamers are in US, and it would appear not to be on PS3. I guess Sony can do something about 1) above (it's at least in their control) but 2) and 3) are tough cookies to crack IMHO. PSP is terrible. It's my handheld of choice when I travel but it's really struggling outside Japan and particularly in US it seems. Lack of games? Piracy? iTouch/Phone competing for media functions? All of those and more? I guess Sony turned PSP around in Japan but its going to take some magic to do so outside that territory if they even can.

It's odd to see the sales for PS3 in Japan is the highest among the 3 regions and in NA is the lowest. On one hand, PS3 is doing realy realy good this week in Japan. On the other hand, PS3 is doing terrible in NA this week.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
PS3 in America is terrible.
PSP is practically dead atm in america.
Both need a pricecut, and fast.

PS3 is dying.. I feel sorry the black console.
Also the PSP is doing pretty bad as well.
DSi commercials must be working..
Wii needs software.. badly.
Also 360 is doing swimmingly.
Pixel Art can be fun.
