However I fail to understand why Metacritic is keeping the score at 89.

And since their algorithm is secret and proprietary, it just sucks.

Not all reviews actually count towards the average. 

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but to them, reviews come in their teirs:

• tier 3 -- don't fucking matter.  These are from new sites that are still establishing themselves and random blogs and they just don't getp osted.,
• tier 2 -- posted, but not counted.  These are from the bigger sites so they get posted but aren't actually popular enough for them to go into the average score.
• tier 1 -- posted and counted.  These are from the bigger sites that constantly post so many reviews per month.

Ya totally agreed.

But since we have no idea what those tier 1, 2, 3 sites are, I can't help but feel frustrated why this game is not getting the AAA rating that it thoroughly deserves, especially since a huge majority of reviewers are rating it above 90%

  Sad day, Just got back from my local gamestop that i pre-ordered at.  Well they got their shipment in, but no Demon's Souls >.<.  So looks like I wont be able to play till they get it in unless they get another shipment in today which i doubt it.

I was surprised at how small the package was - I was expecting a big box or something like that for the deluxe version. My first thoughts was, "Oh man, Amazon fucked my order."

The art book is so-so; the illustrations on the first few pages and the landscapes are wonderful, but the character and enemy illustrations are poor, imo. Can't wait to pop it in after class.

Deluxe version comes tomorrow from Amazon!

Picked my very nice Deluxe Edition. A bit sad that the art book contains no Maiden in Black.

Just booted it up now. Still sitting at the character screen deciding what class to start with.

I end up being a perfectionist, so should I start as royalty? I know it would make the beginning a royal pain in the ass.
