Ugh, just killed the black phantom in 2-2 and it didn't change my character tendency at all :(

(I used poison cloud, but also soul ray and my sword...GRRRRRR). I'm beginning to think I'm not supposed to get this trophy!

Yes, you'll get much more souls than in NG, but enemies are 100% more difficult.

Try to be at least neutral when you go to NG+, or else the reduced health in soul mode and the lower damage that you do will hinder you greatly in NG+, trust me, I made that mistake

@marciosmg

Save them, You'll be needing them to make Viscous Bow's when you reach Viscous Bow's +3. The difference between the Hardstone/Sharpstone path and the other stones is that those first two stones, their paths go to +10 and don't add prefixes to your weapons/shields, and all other stones go to +5 and add prefixes and bonus effects.

@epicurean

You made a mistake using the poison cloud, since it won't count as a kill if the poison kills him, it will count as a status kill. It will only count as a kill if you kill him with either a physical, magical or a fire hit.

Well the last hit came with my sword, at least I'm 99% sure it did...I had read that you couldn't use poison cloud for all the damage, but I'm wondering if you can't use it at all...

You can use bleed, poison or plague to wilth dow the BP players health, but you need to make sure you deal the final blow with anything other than those. I have tried that myself and it has worked ;)

It must have been just terrible timing then....I hit him with my sword and he died, but I suppose its possible the "poison" hit him at the exact same second or something...

That BP has an insane amount of HP and defenses...I tried fighting him about 4 times without using poison cloud, etc....my soul arrow (with magic of 45, talisman of beasts) was doing basically nothing to him, and my Northern Regalia with almost complete black character tendency (somewhere around 480 damage) hardly hurt him either. I was at a loss for what else to do to actually do damage on the guy.

Sometimes that could be due to a lag spike, it has happened to me once, I got a backstab on an BP even though I was facing him on the front xD

Was he using Warding? Sometimes that spell makes all the difference in PVP, you'll cut down tons of damage with it.

I'm talking about that BP that shows up with PB WT in 2-2...not sure his name, he gives you the Talisman of Beasts in soul form and pure greystone (I think) in body form. He does do some spell immediatly when he sees you, not sure if it is Warding or not.

I am playing him on NG+++, too, so that might have something to do with it as well.

@Epicurean

Oh, you mean Scirvir's BP? Yeah, he uses Warding at the start of the battle, and if you use too much Fire spells, he'll also use Water Veil.

He's extremely tough, in my opinion, he's the single, most difficult NPC BP in the entire game, especially if he can corner you and cast FireStorm on you >_

Is that the Black Phantom Scirvir?
