i will make a recommendation to the council.

Left 4 Dead

you don't really die you just become one of the non living

Games must include weapons of some sort to be considered a blockbuster or a hardcore title nowadays. Then, we have guns in cars, guns in cartoon characters, guns in RTS, guns in RPG and in almost everything else.

Blood is always welcome too. So, yes: most non-sports game involve death.

Awesome trailer for the new Ganbare Goemon game, to be released in March, 2009 for... Well, it's a Pachinko machine with a display. Oh, God.

*NEW SUPER MARIO BROS WII*:  Now it's gonna happen!!! Thank you so much Nintendo.

Guitar Hero?

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Guitar Hero 3. It had a story, of sorts.

And The Sims. People die a bit, but that's only if you set fire to them, or make them swim laps until they die of exhaustion.

(Former) Lead Moderator and (Eternal) VGC Detective

Lucasarts adventures such as Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island and the great Grim Fandango (which has a better story then most other games put together, voice acting too).

While there is a lot of shooting, etc. it's hard to see games like Ratchet and Clank as anything other than light hearted fun IHMO.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I don't think there was any death involved in Touch Detective (DS). Also, how about the Professor Layton games? Chibi-Robo? Elebits? de Blob?

There are deaths in Pokemon games. I remember there being these towers with tons of pokemon graves and stuff, as well as a 'soul house' where people could pay their respects to deceased Pokemon.

Also, Elite Beat Agents features Death in a way, there's one chapter where you have to help a little girl deal with the death of her father.

yeah but the gameplay doesn't revolve around murder cheebee (EBA).

And I agree with Bully. That's a really high profile title with no murder in it at all.
