Forums - Nintendo - Wii Sensor Bar

Does anyone know a very good sensor bar I can get?  I sit about 26 feet from my screen and I have to put the sensor bar in the middle of the room to get any signal.  It is not ideal cause firstly I have to point quite away from the screen.  However, it's not such an issue as I am used to it now.  More of an issue is that having the cable trailing to the middle of the room looks rather messy.

So does anyone know what sensor bar has the longest range?

it's longest range for motion sensing is like 30 feet, but i think the ir pointer doesn't work at that much of a range.'

have to tried setting sensitivity to 5?

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

you can view a few screenshots from the game in my photo album here; http://www.vgchartz.com/photos/album.php?album=2312

yes, this is vonboy's alt account. i can't log into my original account, and i'm not sure if i will ever be able to.

I made 2 myself (1 for each side). Works great at long distances.

Here you can see how (with photos).

There's this really big sensor bar that my cousin has, it's wireless and it captures the movement a bit better from far range, but I don't remember the name of it.
But you could try changing the sensitivity number, like vonboysp said, try it from 1-5 and see what works best.

Had no idea you could adjust sensitivity. Will try it out and see. Mine must be on low sensitivity cause I am not getting a range anywhere close to 30 feet. In fact I am not getting much more than 15 feet.

i bought this one

it can be connected to the wii or used with batteries

What the hell size living room do you have?

And even more so, how huge is your TV that you can see it so far away.

26 feet is almost 8 metres... which is almost as long as my house.

Anyhow... I believe someone on here once recommended buying a 3rd party sensor bar then putting it directly on top of the Nintendo bar, which increases the range.

the 30 feet range is for the Wii remote blu-tooth, not for the IR sensing... the IR camera is best used between 1 and 5 metres away... although with the right setting it will work from further, but 5 meteres is like a guide similar to best before dates on food.

As for changing the setting, I am not certain which actually works best for long distances, there are 5 settings though, so give it a try at 1, 3 and 5 and see which is best.

There is a Nyko Wireless one that is huge, and takes batteries!
