^sure, the prediction is almost always wrong, but he never goes with that. Funny he releases his final numbers after every other damn site does it. It seems to me the final numbers are "borrowed" and he just adds a little spin to it.

Wow, you are brilliant my friend, I'm not sure how you figured this one out.

"The" I dont know why you think I control the final numbers. If I sent you a print screen of my computer screen right now you would see that I have no capacity to upload any data on the site. That is why data never goes up if you don't see a little "online" symbol next to ioi. Ultimately its a matter of hits. If we don't have compelling content on the front page, data tends to go up a little faster, if we do, a little slower. Since no one else provides free weekly data for Others and Americas, while two other major agencies do for Japan there is no rush to get our Japan data up. Why bother? I doubt most of you came to this site for weekly Japan numbers. They've been available for years, personally I've been following them since the PS1 era on a weekly basis.

As for us not getting hired...how exactly can a free service be hired? What would be the purpose? NPD, Chart Track, Media Create and the others have far more sample data to work with than we do, so they charge for their services. It makes perfect sense that we're not "hired". Most of these companies don't even need those services frankly. Nintendo uses something called Siras which it liscenses out to companies like Sony, which is why it can release data like "we sold 800,000 Wiis on Black Friday" the Monday after Black Friday. NPD and the others are used because they are considered objective, professional third parties with large samples while something like Siras is internal and considered 'subjective' even though it seems very accurate.

If you did a preview every week of an entire market in two hours, while translating the data you receive out of Japan into English, for free, without speaking Japanese, I guarentee you'd be wrong often. Instead you sit here and complain that the numbers you are getting early and for free are producing an outcome marginally different than what professional agencies produce with days of extra work, massive staffs, better samples and years of experience.

Someone just got

lololololoolol great pic.

So, the PS3 beat the Wii again in sales this week, or am I reading it incorrectly?

^there's a reason why this site is not hired to report on sales for ANY software/ hardware company.

Well when VGC does rip numbers people complain

And when they dont, people still complain...

Again, if you feel you can do a better job, feel free to do so, nobody can stop you. But here at VGC in the case of Japan, they take numbers from trusted sources and then go beyond to give us data that we public dont get to see.

In many cases, VGC can be off by quite a lot, mostly overshooting but sometimes severly undershooting, but its still amazing as to how many times they are on the dot. I say the Japan numbers are great (as with the rest of the site), but again, if you dont like them, then dont use them

You are reading correctly By about 1000 consoles.

A couple of observations:

1. At first I thought "The" was just a disgruntled Sony fanboy going after TheSource in a typical deflecton argument, but now I think he may be the latest iteration of "Jasmine." I suggest that he be contained or even removed from the site quickly. That may sound like an overreaction, but if anyone remembers "Jasmine's" origins then they know this person is only here for destructive purposes.

2. Please, stop the damage control. Monster Hunter G did not "fail", people need to stop pretending that it's MH3 or that it would have PSP sales. You just look pathetic the more you claw at this game. It did not raise hardware like many were expecting, but it wasn't the main course to bein with. Wii doesn't need to be "saved," don't get it twisted with the PS3.

3. People need to get off of TheSource's ass and show a little respect. There are moronic (yes, moronic) predictions made here every day by the same people harping on him. The difference is that his predictions are based on early numbers and not a fanboy's wishful thinking. TheSource's prediction that the Wii will outsell the PS3 is not a personal attack on your beliefs, and there's no reason for you to dance around a bonfire and insult him because he was wrong. Get over ourselves and grow up, please.

You guys should relax lol

Yeah I try to be relaxed on here. I just don't understand some people's reasoning sometimes, that's all. Plus one worded responses to quotes never have a point to them and are pretty much meaningless unless the describe a sole emotion.

I just figure ass kissing should be kept away from places like internet sites. It just isn't going to get people anywhere. I seem harsh sometimes but I tend to speak my mind and bite my tounge when I have to. Even in post when I seem or appear angry I'm really just relaxed usually watching something on my computer.

1. Agreed. In time he will be removed but will be replaced by another even worse user.

2. Agreed as well. This game did not fail unless we were looking at MH3 sales. Even then these numbers would be moderatly good for a game that has grew in popularity on a handheld. Wii doesn't need to be saved but the PS3 is doing better than last year by alot in Japan.

3. Agreed thrice. Respect is what needs to be given to the people who help run this site. Yes he predicts the Wii above the PS3 but why shouldn't he?Let's talk a look back since lauch and it would only be reasonable to think such things.

Let's face it - MH failed. Badly. Right now it's one of the biggest franchises in Japan so fact it barely outsold PS2 version (when series were nowhere close to it's current popularity) means nothing. This game won't sell anywhere close to it's handheld incarnation. Believe and mark my signature.

Excuse me? Are you telling me 143k for a game that was released twice is bad? And it even outsold the PS2 version.

If MHG did 143k, MH3 can do 3 maybe even 4x the numbers MHG did. If they do a MH3 bundle Wii sales will be pretty big.

@everyone else saying "Haha, PS3 > Wii!"

So? Wow, the PS3 sold 1k more. That just means you're still doing shit (assuming that's what people think of Wii sales)...just you're in extremely slightly better shit. 1k is in the margin of error. So it's almost a virtual tie. Way to brag over nothing.

Oh, and I don't see anyone saying they were wrong in thinking how the PS3 could fall so low after last week (like The) but are ragging on Source.

No need to get so testy, but I think we know that MH sales on the PSP have to do more with the platform rather than the growing popularity of the series.

I personally think that MHG did alright.
